NiP coach after their disappointing Major run: I still feel bad when I wake up
The 28-year-old Swedish coach talked about NiP’s unsuccessful Rio campaign in an episode of HLTV Confirmed.
Ninjas in Pyjamas’ coach, Daniel “djL” Narancic appeared on an episode of HLTV Confirmed with Hampus “hampus” Poser, where the NiP duo reflected on their unsuccessful IEM Rio Major campaign, which saw them get eliminated from the event with a 0-3 record after losing to fnatic, Outsiders, and Sprout.
“We had really high expectations and we felt really good coming into the tournament. The result was kind of rock bottom. I didn’t feel like we were even on the server. I still feel bad when I wake up. I don’t know if we put too much pressure on ourselves, which we usually don’t do. It was a weird feeling.” – Daniel djL” Narancic said on HLTV Confirmed.
The duo also spoke a little bit about their AWP situation within the roster as the team was left with no primary AWPer after Nicolai “device” Reedtz announced his return to his former team Astralis. After the 27-year-old Danish AWPer left the team, the AWP role fell upon Fredrik “REZ” Sterner, who always has been a rifler during his career.
“He is the most mechanically gifted player in Sweden, he can AWP. This is something we talked about for one to two months, and REZ wanted to try and give it his all in the role. Taking up another role is never easy, you don’t just pick up the AWP and think that you will be s1mple. It’s a lot of hard work, and I think REZ is doing an amazing job. He is working his ass off.”
