PGL Bucharest 2027 is the first PGL event of the 2027 season. Sixteen teams play in PGL’s studio in Bucharest, Romania, from 17 to 24 January for a $1,000,000 prize pool, and the winners take $280,000.
The field is complete. Fourteen teams were invited from Valve’s Regional Standings, and MOUZ, Vitality and FURIA are the three highest-ranked teams in the field. BBL and Betclic took the last two places through the European closed qualifier.

Every invite accepted, despite the BLAST clash
PGL Bucharest 2027 overlaps with BLAST Bounty 2027 Season 1 in Malta, which runs from 13 to 24 January. All 14 teams PGL invited from the VRS accepted, so the top of the rankings will be in Bucharest. Read more in our story on the clash.
BBL and Betclic through the qualifier
BBL won the European closed qualifier without dropping a series, beating EYEBALLERS, ex-RUSTEC and Betclic. The Danish lineup joined BBL at the end of August, and MistR signed days before the qualifier. Betclic beat Eternal Fire and Nemesis, lost the upper final to BBL and then beat Nemesis again to qualify. According to HLTV, it is Betclic’s first notable event since PGL Bucharest 2025.
FURIA and Nemiga return to Bucharest
The last PGL event in Bucharest ended on 31 October, when FURIA beat Nemiga 3-2 in the grand final of PGL Masters Bucharest 2026. It was FURIA’s second title in two weeks, and YEKINDAR was named MVP. Nemiga were a closed qualifier team then. This time they are invited.
FUT return as PGL Bucharest champions
FUT won PGL Bucharest 2026 in April with a 3-1 final against Astralis. Both teams are back in the field.
