torzsi

Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás was the first player MOUZ promoted from its academy, and he has outlasted every teammate he joined. The Hungarian AWPer has played for the main team since January 2022, won five big titles and became the first Hungarian in HLTV’s top 20 players of the year. The one trophy still missing is a Major.

A closed door in Hungary

torzsi watched his older brothers play Counter-Strike 1.6 when he was four or five years old. In November 2016, at 15, he received a VAC ban. He told HLTV in 2024 that the best players in Hungary did not trust him afterwards, and the top local teams would not take him. The ban kept him out of Valve events until 2021.

His breakthrough came at the V4 Future Sports Festival in Budapest in 2019, where he posted the only positive rating on GAMERZONE. Salamander, Hungary’s best team, signed him in December 2019, and the lineup moved to Budapest Five in May 2020. He later explained why he wanted to leave the local scene.

I felt like a lot of players were happy with being one of the best in Hungary, but I knew it meant nothing overall, and I always wanted more; to break out and play internationally.

The academy’s first graduate

In May 2021, coach Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen signed torzsi for MOUZ NXT, the organization’s new academy team, alongside siuhy, xertioN and JDC. NXT won the first two seasons of the WePlay Academy League, and torzsi averaged a 1.25 rating with the team.

On January 3, 2022, MOUZ promoted him and sycrone to the main team to replace Danish AWPer Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand. In his first year, MOUZ reached the semi-finals of the IEM Rio Major 2022, then the organization’s best Major result.

The last MVP of CS:GO

After a weak first half of 2023, MOUZ added siuhy and Jimpphat next to frozen. Three months later, the team won ESL Pro League Season 18, beating NAVI 3-0 in the final on October 1, 2023. torzsi had a 1.21 rating and was named MVP, the last MVP award handed out before tournaments switched to Counter-Strike 2.

MOUZ won ESL Pro League Season 19 and BetBoom Dacha Belgrade back to back in May 2024 and reached first place in HLTV’s world ranking that year. torzsi finished 2024 in 20th place in HLTV’s top 20, the first Hungarian to make the list.

Finals against Vitality

In 2025, MOUZ were among the most consistent teams in the world. The team won PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, beating Falcons 3-1 in the final, and then lost finals at ESL Pro League Season 21, BLAST Open Lisbon, IEM Dallas and IEM Cologne. MOUZ lost seven series in a row to Vitality that year before finally beating them in the Cologne semi-final. torzsi won four EVP awards and climbed to 17th in HLTV’s top 20.

In December 2025, the StarLadder Budapest Major gave him a home crowd, which cheered MOUZ into the playoffs before FaZe won the quarter-final.

The villain in Cluj

At PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 in February, MOUZ eliminated NAVI and its Romanian player iM in front of a Romanian crowd. Booed on stage, torzsi swore at the fans in his interview. MOUZ lost the semi-final to PARIVISION, and torzsi later told HLTV that he had been too harsh.

To be honest, it got to me. I knew every time the camera was on me, I heard the boos, and it was tough to focus.

The last one left

After a last-place finish at BLAST Open Rotterdam, MOUZ benched Brollan and Jimpphat in April 2026. xertioN took over as in-game leader, and countryman Adrian “xelex” Vincze was promoted from the academy. After the IEM Cologne Major 2026, where FUT Esports knocked MOUZ out in Stage 3, the team signed Oldřich “PR” Nový. torzsi, now the longest-serving player on the roster, told Pley in August 2026 how the change suited him.

xertioN and I have a really good connection, and we understand each other really well, and it also shows in the game. We have been teammates for almost six years, and we understand each other really well on the server.

The new lineup beat Spirit 3-1 in the BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2 final, MOUZ’s first title in 17 months, and later reached the finals of BLAST Open Porto and ESL Pro League Season 24.
