cmtry

Mykyta “cmtry” Samolotov has played as an AWPer since he joined NAVI Youth at 15. At 18, he was named MVP of PGL Bucharest 2026 after FUT Esports beat Astralis 3-1 in the final.

Six months later, FUT benched him to sign an experienced AWPer. On October 13, 2026, the Ukrainian joined Astralis, the team he had beaten in that final, as a rifler.

From NAVI’s academy to FUT

cmtry joined NAVI Youth, the youth team of NAVI, in August 2023 and moved up to NAVI Junior in May 2024. The young lineup’s biggest win came at YaLLa Compass Qatar 2025, where it beat ENCE 2-0 in the final in April 2025 and took home $150,000.

On August 1, 2025, Turkish organization FUT Esports signed NAVI Junior’s core: cmtry, Dmytro “dem0n” Myroshnychenko, Aulon “Krabeni” Fazlija, Džiugas “dziugss” Steponavičius and coach András “coolio” Fercsák. Romanian veteran Laurențiu “lauNX” Țârlea joined three weeks later. In March 2026, cmtry told HLTV why the group wanted to stay together.

I think we have insane chemistry together, we have an insane vibe in the team. Everyone is really good friends with each other, and I think it’s a key to why we want to stay together. We did the long journey from NAVI Junior to FUT, and everyone is really enjoying this.

Breakthrough in 2026

FUT got late invites to PGL Cluj-Napoca and ESL Pro League Season 23 in early 2026. In Pro League, the team beat MOUZ 2-1 in the quarter-finals and lost to NAVI in the semi-finals. Astralis beat FUT 2-1 in the third-place match in Stockholm on March 15.

That event, he said later, was where his confidence returned. At PGL Bucharest in April, FUT beat B8 2-0, The MongolZ 2-0 and Astralis 3-1 in the best-of-five final on April 11, 2026. The final went 13-5 on Ancient, 13-5 on Mirage, 14-16 on Nuke and 13-3 on Dust2. It was FUT’s first big LAN title, worth $400,000.

cmtry finished with a 1.31 rating and a 195-138 kill-death ratio, and HLTV named him the MVP of the event, the first of his career. Before the final, he explained to HLTV where the form came from.

For me, I was under pressure in Stockholm not because of the arena, but because of the big teams. I was a bit like… It was the same at PGL Cluj for example, I had a bit of pressure on me because of the big teams. After we beat MOUZ and showed good results at EPL, I gained a lot of confidence and now it’s just easier to play.

A Major and a world cup final

At the IEM Cologne Major 2026 in June, FUT went 3-0 in Stage 2 but went out in Stage 3 with a 2-3 record after a 0-2 loss to BetBoom. It was cmtry’s first Major. In July, FUT replaced lauNX with Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç.

The team’s best run of the year came at the Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris. FUT beat MOUZ 2-0 in the quarter-finals and FURIA 2-1 in the semi-finals, before Spirit won the final 3-1 on August 23. cmtry took the blame for part of the loss in an interview with Pley.

I missed a lot today, which messed up a lot of rounds for us, and we couldn’t close it. It’s just all about the pressure. It was a bit hard to play. I was not in shape today.

Benched by FUT

Three days after the final, FUT said on X that the contracts of cmtry and Krabeni were “still in effect” and that both would stay. In September, the organization extended the contracts of the other four players and coolio, but not cmtry’s.

cmtry had averaged a 1.00 rating on LAN in 2026, and over the previous 12 months he had been the lowest-rated player on the team, unusual for a primary AWPer. On October 1, 2026, FUT benched him and signed SunPayus from G2 as the new AWPer.

Rifler in Astralis

Astralis announced cmtry and siuhy on October 13, 2026, as replacements for HooXi and jabbi. Journalist Sebastien “KRL” Perez had reported the move as a loan. With phzy already on the AWP, cmtry switched to a rifle role in a lineup with Staehr, ryu and siuhy, coached by NEO.

The new lineup debuted at Stake Pulse Beat III in Stockholm on October 14, 2026, beating Sashi 2-0 and HOTU 2-1 to win its group. cmtry finished on a 0.91 and a 0.98 rating in his first two series with the rifle.
