huNter-

Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač is a Bosnian rifler and in-game leader who has played for G2 since September 2019. He won six big trophies there alongside his cousin NiKo before taking over the team himself.

When NiKo and m0NESY left for Falcons in 2025, huNter- stayed and became the in-game leader. Two months later, he led a rebuilt G2 to the BLAST Open London 2025 title.

From Bijeljina to the Berlin Major

huNter- was born in Sarajevo and grew up in Bijeljina in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina. He turned professional in 2015 with GamePub and later played for iNation and Binary Dragons before joining Valiance in October 2017.

The Balkan team signed nexa from Imperial in November 2018 and rebranded to CR4ZY in 2019. That year, it won the United Masters League Finals and reached its first Major, the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019, where it made the Legends Stage.

G2 and the cousin

G2 signed huNter- and nexa from CR4ZY on September 30, 2019, to replace shox and Lucky. The move turned the French team into an international lineup with kennyS, JaCkz and amanek. In December 2019, huNter- was named HLTV MVP of cs_summit 5, and G2 won the Champions Cup Finals a week later.

NiKo joined from FaZe at the end of 2020. Over the next four years, the cousins reached the final of PGL Major Stockholm 2021, where they lost 2-0 to NAVI, and won six big titles together. The best spell came in 2023: G2 won IEM Katowice and IEM Cologne, and huNter- was named MVP in Katowice after posting a 1.28 rating in the playoffs, according to HLTV.

HLTV ranked him among the 20 best players in the world four years in a row: 13th in 2020, 12th in 2021, 14th in 2022 and 13th in 2023. With m0NESY added in 2022, G2 reached the semi-finals of both Majors in 2024 and ended the year with the BLAST Premier Fall Final and World Final titles.

Taking over the calling

NiKo left for Falcons in January 2025, and m0NESY followed in April. In July 2025, G2 benched Snax and handed the in-game leader role to huNter-, who had turned it down several times before. MATYS, SunPayus and coach Eetu “sAw” Saha came in alongside malbsMd and HeavyGod.

After his first match as caller, a 2-0 win over FURIA at IEM Cologne 2025, he told HLTV why he finally said yes.

I just think I can share my experience with others and I can help them become better players as well, and I think I can help the team more than I was doing lately in G2.

The same match included a 1v5 clutch, which he won with a defuse kit he had bought by selling a flashbang. On September 7, 2025, G2 beat Vitality 3-2 in the final of BLAST Open London at Wembley Arena, the team’s first title under his leadership.

Injury and the Cologne Major

In March 2026, G2 traded malbsMd to Liquid for NertZ. In early April, they won Stake Ranked Episode 1, and days later huNter- injured his ankle and missed IEM Rio, where academy player tAk stood in. He explained the injury on X.

He was back for the IEM Cologne Major in June 2026, where G2 beat NAVI in the Stage 3 decider to reach the playoffs. In the quarter-final, they held three match points against Spirit in a series with five overtimes and lost.

A new AWPer

After the Major, G2 benched SunPayus and signed r1nkle from NIP on June 25, 2026. At the Esports World Cup in August, where FURIA knocked G2 out in the quarter-finals, huNter- told Pley that his own role had not changed and praised r1nkle’s mid-round communication.

In September 2026, G2 reached the final of FISSURE Playground 3, their first final since London, but lost 3-0 to Legacy. In October, PARIVISION knocked them out of ESL Pro League Season 24. huNter- told HLTV during the event that the team “cannot change everything to make r1nkle comfortable fully” but was building parts of the game around the AWPer.
