Underdog destroys device debut
The favorites delivered in the first map at Overpass, but they disappointed as the underdog outplayed ended up winning.
The first map of the game was at Overpass where NIP delivered an exceptional map, they fully outplayed their opponents, and looked sharp.
They were in front 12-3 at halftime after a nearly perfect performance as the T side for NIP, and the momentum continued onto the second half of Overpass, NIP cleaned the table as they won 4-0 as the CT side and won the map 16-3.
A fantastic performance by the Swedish side, where the new man device, seemed to have played with the team for years.
The second map was on Nuke, where the momentum continued for Ninjas in Pyjamas, they won the first half 9-6, after an okay performance, but they struggled a little with the defense as the CT side.
But after the change from CT to T everything went wrong for NIP, Anonymo was very efficient on the CT side, as they predicted pretty much anything that NIP had set up with their great defense.
Anonymo fought their way back in the game, and even ended up winning the game after a perfect defensive strategy as the CT side, they won the second half 10-4, and therefore won the map 16-13.
This meant that a third map was needed in the game, the third map was on Mirage. This map became a very close map.
NIP was leading 8-7 at halftime, but Anonymo came back once again and won the second half 8-7.
The game went in overtime where the underdogs ended up pulling the longest straw after a great performance by the Anonymo roster, who ended up winning the map 19-17 and therefore the game 2-1 as the underdog.
A good debut for device who ended up being the MVP, but he couldn’t help his team to win today against the Polish side.
