Triumph in Abu Dhabi! The MongolZ win YaLLa Compass 2024
The Mongolian roster has successfully put Asian Counter-Strike back on the map with their latest performances on the international scene.
With a 2-1 win against Ninjas in Pyjamas, The MongolZ lifted the trophy at the $400,000 tournament, YaLLa Compass 2024 last night in Abu Dhabi. The win marks the second international trophy in a row for the Mongolian side, who took down Sashi, ENCE, HEROIC, NIP, Astralis, and NIP again in the Grand Final to secure themselves a decent payday with a $200,000 first-place prize.
The Grand Final could have lasted only two maps, but the Mongolian side failed to complete a strong comeback on Nuke in overtime. Instead, they stormed past NIP on both Mirage and Nuke to win the match and tournament.
The MongolZ, currently ranked 15th in the world, can look forward to a solid rise in the world rankings, which are updated later today. The team can extend their tournament win streak later this week in Sweden, where they are one of the favorites for the title at ESL Challenger Jönköping 2024.
