Swedish organization sign ex-New England Whalers
High Coast has announced the signing of the former New England Whalers roster and head coach Joseph “Muenster” Lima.
The Swedish organization has secured representation overseas heading into the new year as they have announced the signing of ex-New England Whalers roster, consisting of four players and head coach Muenster. This marks High Coast’s first entry into NA Counter-Strike, although it will maintain a Swedish academy roster, competing in ESEA Main Season 36.
The roster under the New England Whalers banner managed to find modest success towards the end of 2020 with a runner-up finish in ESEA MDL Season 35 and a victory over FURIA in IEM New York North America.
Ben “ben1337” Smith and company peaked at no. #27 in the world rankings before being released as their parent company, Greenhouse Agency, was severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Following their release, the roster lost Brendan “Bwills” Williams to Triumph, and have now until ESEA MDL Season 36 begins on January 18th to secure the services of a fifth player.
