New England Whalers release their roster
Another NA roster will not be re-signed by their organization due to the global pandemic.
It was revealed by the organization in a press release on Sunday that New England Whalers will part ways with their CS:GO roster. Sean Roche, who is the majority owner of the team, determined in November that the organization would be unable to keep their CS:GO team as their parent company has been severely impacted by the ongoing global pandemic.
“I’m grateful for the year that I’ve been working with our CS:GO team. Our players have been exemplary professionals in and out of the server. Though a tough directive to follow, I remain optimistic for our (Whalers) soon return to CS:GO and further expansion to additional esports titles. I will continue to support our players’ and coach’s future in CS:GO under our banner and beyond.” The Co-Founder and Chief Gaming Officer, Diego Freitas told in the press release.
The organization will look ahead to a return and expansion in esports and gaming in the near future, but for now, the team will enter free agency and are open to new offers from other organizations.
New England Whalers will play their final event under the name in DreamHack Masters Winter North America.
