NIP makes a great comeback against G2!
G2 won the first map but couldn’t keep momentum against a strong NIP roster.
The first map was played on Mirage, where G2 delivered a great map at the CT side.
9-6 was the result after the first half on the beloved map, where they defended the bombsites very well, especially the B bombsite were almost impossible to infiltrate for NIP.
And the European roster kept their momentum in the second half as the T side, where they won 7-6 which was enough to secure the map win 16-12 against the stars from Sweden.
But it wasn’t the Bosnian duo who dominated for G2, they didn’t have their best game today, which also gave NIP the opportunity in the last two maps.
The second map was on Inferno where NIP dominated from the start, after the first half they lead 10-5, and the map only seemed to be a formality and an almost certain third map.
G2 fought bravely in the second half, but they didn’t come close after a great map performance for NIP, and they won 16-9.
This wasn’t expected, as Inferno has been the best map for G2 in the last three months, where they win 71.4% on the map, but anything can happen in CS:GO, and this time both teams chose the wrong maps, as they both lost on their choice.
Therefore, a third map was needed, this would be on the famous Dust2, which statistically the worst map for G2, so they would have to up the gear to win against NIP.
But NIP was too strong, after the first half NIP was leading 9-6, but there was a big chance for G2, as Dust2 is the most T side-dominated competitive map. But G2 failed to deliver in the second half, they made the game competitive, but couldn’t come all the way back in the match and ended up losing 16-14 to a great Swedish roster.
