Shox and co. withdraw from all competitions: We need time to reflect and evaluate
The European team “Apeks” has decided to withdraw their team from upcoming tournaments.
Apeks has pulled its CS:GO team from all upcoming tournaments such as the ESEA Advanced Europe playoffs following a series of bad results. The Norwegian team will now evaluate their situation.
Due to our current state we have decided to withdraw the main CS team from all competitions. Our results have been far from good enough and we need time to reflect and evaluate until we feel ready, Apeks wrote in a statement.
This news came just shortly after the Norwegian-based organization signed the well-known Major champion Richard “shox” Papillon and Lithuanian Justinas “jL” Lekavicius. The acquisitions however did not make the Apeks team more competitive at all. The squad failed to qualify for the IEM Rio Major Europe Regional Major Ranking (RMR) after they lost in four out of four open qualifiers. This will put shox´s impressive Major attendance run to an end.
For now, it’s still unclear If the Apeks organization will make roster changes in the coming weeks.
The Apeks roster looks as follows:
Richard "shox" Papillon
Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad
Justinas "jL" Lekavicius
Tim "nawwk" Jonasson
Martin "STYKO" Styk
