ESIC reduce former NiP coach’s ban
The former Ninjas in Pyjamas coach Faruk “pita” Pita has revealed that the ESIC has reduced his ban for using the spectator bug.
The Bosnian who was banned back in September for using the spectator bug in two matches has gotten his ban reduced after being successful in his appeal and may already return to coaching in two months.
“I’m able to confirm today that my ESIC ban has been reduced with 45%, meaning that I will be unbanned in two months, by March 13th,” pita wrote in a Twitlonger post.
After using the bug against Astralis and mousesports in the ESL Pro League Season 8 Europe event, pita attempted to report the spectator bug through direct messages via Twitter to Valve, which is the reason his confession was accepted in full as he tried to act correctly.
“The commissioner said during the hearing that he had sympathy with me because the bug ‘had come’ to me, and that he believed I acted correctly when I decided to stop it and report it to the developers. The reason why I wanted to share this is because, even though I did something terribly wrong, it feels ‘better’ knowing I did at least do something right in all of this. I guess.”
The 30-year-old coach is the second one to be successful in an appeal regarding the coaching bug and he wishes to continue his career when the ban expires on March 13.
“I would like to say that I hope by the middle of March the community can accept me again. If some of you don’t, I totally understand and respect it. I do hope I can come back and coach again. That’s what I love. Trying to help people become better at what they love. I have learned a lot these last seven years as a coach and wish to continue learning. I do not want to go to any other game. CS has been my passion since 2001 and it still is.”
