Frederik "Fessor" Sørensen is set to be out for one month after discovering he has arthritis. Fessor announced on his Twitter that a new operation would take place on Wednesday. 

The FPL star will be set on the recovery bed for at least a month before returning to the grind on Faceit.

During the interview, the former NAVI-player revealed, that the team has switched the duty of in-game leader to Volodymyr "Woro2k" Veletnjuk, who will be calling the shots from the get-go on Monte.

The departure of Mohammad "BOROS" Malhas has left the team with too few aggressive players, which is the reasoning behind “freeing” up Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev.

- As Boros left the team we were missing aggressive players who were taking space, so I will focus on that and on my individual game more in the start of the rounds. It will be a bit easier for me in the start, the 26-year-old Ukrainian explained.

- We can only travel with the permission of our government which is basically for the tournaments. We get permission for two weeks, and we go out for the tournaments and then in time we need to be back to the border to sign papers that we are back.

The situation has so far prevented the team from bootcamping, but that might change in the near future.

- In bootcamps it is much easier to fix our game and get better. But we will have it a bit later, maybe before IEM Sydney, because we should have longer permission, Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev says.

Monte will face BIG in the opening round of Group B in ESL Pro League 18 later today. In the full interview below, you can hear more about that match and also more about the change of in-game leader.

It’s soon time for the Pick’em Challenge. When released, you can find the Pick'em Challenge inside of CS:GO, where you can buy a viewer pass for the 2023 CS:GO Major in Paris. This gives you the option to earn a special diamond coin if you make the right picks throughout the tournament. You will also earn souvenir cases to open. The first stage of a CS:GO Major is called a Challenge Stage. Here 16 teams fight for the eight spots in the Legends Stage, where the highest-ranked teams await.

In CS:GO Pick’ems, your job is to find a team going 3-0, and another team going 0-3 in the Challengers Stage. Then you pick seven teams to advance to the next stage. You only need five correct answers to complete the task. And this is important.

The easiest job is to pick the 0-3 team. Here a couple of teams stand out. At the last Major, both Grayhound and The MongolZ (IHC back then) ruined everybody’s pick by winning a game. So this time around we will stay away from the two teams and instead choose Fluxo. The Brazilian team qualified by beating yur, BESTIA, and Paquetá in what seems like one of the easiest routes to the Major. Fluxo however lose on a regular basis to teams ranked higher than themselves including paiN Gaming, who they will face in the opening round. We believe Fluxo to be a good pick for the 0-3 spot. 

Our 3-0 pick is a little more complicated. We don’t want to waste one of the teams, that we are sure will qualify. Our 3-0 pick will instead be used on a team that could either upset everyone or possibly go out. We think Monte should be considered in this category. The Ukrainian roster won both their bo1 games in the stacked EU RMR Group B (they won against ENCE and Cloud9), and could be a decent shout for the 3-0 pick. But the roster can also lose to teams such as HEET, so our pick could go south very quickly.

That leaves us with seven picks for teams that we think will qualify. It doesn’t matter if they go 3-0, 3-1, or 3-2 in matches won.

FaZe and G2 should go through no matter what despite the disappointment of the last Major (G2 didn’t even qualify). Team Liquid is also a very solid pick to advance. Ninjas in Pyjamas might not be at their best, but they still have a decent bottom level. ENCE has looked very shaky but did perform very well at the last big tournament at ESL Pro League. We give them the benefit of the doubt. We rate paiN Gaming as the second-best team from the Americas in this group and could see them sneak their way through. The last team on our list is OG. Somehow OG has made it work with Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen as their in-game leader. The firepower of degster and flameZ can carry them a long way, and they round off our list.

The Europe RMR match between Heroic and Monte is set to kick off at 16:45 (CEST), and fans are waiting for this clash between two strong teams. Heroic, the Danish CS:GO team, has recently been showing decent Counter-Strike, winning their first two matches of the RMR over 500 and Aurora, and are currently ranked number 3 in the HLTV World Ranking list.

Monte, on the other hand, is on a five-map winning streak taking down the likes of ENCE and Cloud9 in their most recent matches and is currently ranked number 32 in the world. Despite Monte´s lower rank, Heroic will get their hands full as Monte has shown that they can beat some of the best teams in the world. 

There is no head-to-head history between the two teams as this matchup will be the first time they will be facing each other. 

With both teams sitting at 2-0 in the tournament, the winner of this match will secure a spot in the Legends stage, which adds an extra layer of pressure to the players. Fans can expect a closely contested match, with both teams fighting tooth and nail for a victory.

While Heroic is the favorite to win this match, Monte can't be counted out. The odds may favor Heroic, but in CS:GO, anything can happen, and Monte has the potential to cause an upset.

For those looking to bet on the match, there is no value in taking Heroic to win the match, therefore, we believe at Pley.gg that Monte will win one map due to their recent form and talented players. Monte has in recent matches shown that they can compete against the world's best. When looking at the VETO, Ancient should be a free pick for Monte as Heroic normally seeks to ban Anubis.

MIBR and Monte, two well-known names in the esports industry, are gearing up for the upcoming ESL Pro League S18 tournament. Both teams managed to clinch their spot at the event after they won the ESL Challenger League Season 44 North America and the ESL Challenger League Season 44 Europe. Monte took down 9INE 3-1 in their final match and MIBR dominated ATK in a clean 3-0 victory. 

MIBR took upon ATK in their final match of the qualifier. A close match resulted in a 3-0 victory in favor of MIBR who won the first map 19-16 and the second map 16-14. MIBR had a 1-0 map advantage due to coming from the upper bracket. With Henrique 'HEN1' Teles playing lights out, ATK stood no chance despite all the maps hitting 30 rounds or more. 

For Monte, this marks a significant milestone in their grind to the top. With ESL Pro League Season 18 set to feature some of the best teams from around the world, including reigning champions, FaZe, Monte will use the opportunity to test themself against the very best.

Both MIBR and Monte will be hoping to make an impact in ESL Pro League Season 18, with the tournament set to provide many games for all the participants. Whether they can go all the way and compete in the playoffs will remain unknown, but both teams have shown they have the talent and drive to compete at the highest level.

Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev did not hold back when he went on Twitter this Tuesday accusing the Polish team PALOMA of cheating. Something he did right after sdy and Monte had defeated PALOMA in the Grand Final at European Pro League Season 6.

- If you analyze their demos it’s obvious to any reasonable player that they are cheating. It’s a disgrace to our Counter-Strike scene, and I will not be silent. You should use any anti-cheat, doesn’t matter which tier the tournament is it, sdy wrote on Twitter.

The team sdy is accusing is the former Permitta lineup that was released from their duties at the start of this month. Following their farewell, the Poles went back to play for PALOMA until they will find a new banner to represent.

At the newly-concluded European Pro League Season 6, PALOMA/Permitta managed to take down the likes of MOUZ NXT, Astralis Talent, and Nexus. They were also featured in the play-in stage at this year's IEM Katowice where they took on Complexity and the Brazilians from FURIA.

In Group B of the closed online qualifier for the Paris Major EU RMR tournament, OG was the team that everybody kept an eye on with in-game leader Nemanja "nexa" Isaković missing out on the tournament due to personal reasons. In today's match against Aurora there was no need to sweat! OG won a clear 2-0 victory, but what was even more impressive was their T rounds. OG managed to go 22-5 on their T sides despite not having their in-game leader there.

AWP'er Abdul 'degster' Gasanov also did incredibly well to set his team up for success with a +19 K-D score during the match.

Another AWP'er that stole the spotlight today was the legendary Frenchman Kenny 'kennyS' Schrub. The sniper performed excellently on all three maps in today's match between 500 and Falcons. The French Falcons reversed swept 500 after going behind on Nuke. With the win kennyS keeps the dream alive of representing his country on home soil in at the Paris Major.

While France could enjoy success with Falcons they got disappointed with the overtime loss on the decider map for HEET. The French lineup lost 19-16 on Nuke to Monte with former NAVI stand-in Viktor 'sdy' Orudzhev on the roster. Both teams had won each other's map pick before Nuke came into play. Here Bryan 'Maka' Canda did everything he could to keep his team in the match, but Monte was too strong in the overtime game.

25-year-old Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev signs for Monte on a permanent deal. Former Natus Vincere player somedieyoung has since December been a free agent after he parted ways with the Ukrainian organization. 

sdy believes that Monte is the right place for him to show his full potential, and he also believes that the project fits him well. 

The Ukrainian rifler played under the Natus Vicere banner for six months where he managed to reach his first trophy as a pro player at BLAST Premier Spring final 2022. A year with ups and downs for the Ukanien organization, sdy saw himself leaving the roster to create space for their upcoming rifler Andrii "npl" Kukharskyi who played as their six-man during the BLAST Premier World Final. 

somedieyoung played his first game as a Monte player during the European Pro League Season 5 back on 13th January 2023. The next time we get to see sdy and monte in action will be against BIG Academy in the Elisa Invitational Winter 2023 Contenders on 19th January. 

Towards the end of 2022, NAVI announced that Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev won’t get a permanent contract putting their faith in the talented youngster Andrii "⁠npl⁠" Kukharskyi instead.

Today sdy played his first official match since his departure from the CIS giants as he featured in a Bo3 series for the Ukrainian team Monte. It was in a group stage match at European Pro League Season 5 against Viperio, which ended up in the favour of sdy and Monte presenting a clear 2-0 victory.
