BetBoom Team was announced today on Twitter, where the Russian Organization presented its new Counter-Strike team.

BetBoom Team has been involved in Dota2 since April 2022, and has now expanded their esports division with a new title. Spearheading the team will be the former Cloud9 in-game leader Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov, who is joined by well-known fellow Russian players in Aleksandr "⁠KaiR0N-⁠" Anashkin, Pavel "⁠s1ren⁠" Ogloblin and Aleksandr "⁠zorte⁠" Zagodyrenko, while Danil "⁠danistzz⁠" Roslyakov is the only player who has not played on a tier-1 level before.

During the BetBoom Playlist 2023 ForZe took upon Bad News Eagle in the playoffs round 1. On the first map of the series, ForZe were up 11-9 when their talented AWPer Aleksandr "zorte" Zagodyrenko took down four players of Bad News Eagles to secure the 12 round.

ForZe secured their spot in the quarter-finals at BetBoom Playlist 2023 after they managed to take down Bad News Eagles 2-0.

Clutch situations can be very demanding and often leaves no room for error. When retaking a site as a CT you don't only have the opposing T-sided players to worry about but also a ticking bomb. Often the bomb, however, can be used as a way of drawing out the T-sided players, when the sound cue of defusing is given. Ultimately it is a matter of mind games as both the T- and CT-sided players try and outplay their opponent. Is he sticking the defuse or just trying to lure me out? These are the questions you have to ask yourself as a T-sided player in clutch situations - and nothing feels more demoralizing than having your opponent stick a full defuse. 

This has led to the infamous quote "pros don't fake" and whilst it is of course untrue, there have been many times where the T-sided player was left completely tricked by the CT. "zorte" from forZe pulled this exact move of when facing BIG in the Semi-Finals of DreamHack November 2021 just now:

With the second day of DreamHack November 2021 reaching its end, a CIS brawl was still to be decided between forZe and Spirit. Both teams had to see themselves bested on the first day of the event and at the bottom of Group B with zero points. This, however, would change as one of them would, of course, take home three points and strengthen their position within the group. Whilst Spirit is currently ranked higher than forZe within HLTV’s official rankings, it was clear that the void of “mir” and “chopper” still haunts the Spirit roster in some ways. After a close first map on Ancient, it was forZe to completely destroy Team Spirit on Nuke and take home the Bo3-series in just two maps.

The first map was the choice of forZe and saw the Bo3-series start on Ancient. Despite being the pick of forZe it was their opponents of Spirit to start the strongest on the map. With confident CT-sided play, Team Spirit managed to gain an impressive 8-0 lead before being answered back. Luckily for the side of forZe they managed to regain some control and could walk away with a scoreline of 9-6, favoring Team Spirit. The second half saw forZe take complete control and Spirit only narrowly managing to secure overtime. However, it was too late for the Spirit roster it seemed as forZe steamrolled them in overtime and took home Ancient at the scoreline of 19-15.

The second map of the series was to be played on Nuke and was, of course, picked by Team Sprit. The troubles of Team Spirit continued as did the confidence of forZe. This time it was forZe to secure an 8-0 lead on their CT-side of Nuke. Looking completely shellshocked, it seemed impossible for Spirit to do anything against the defense of forZe. At the embarrassing scoreline 15-0, it was Spirit to face an impossible task in the second half of Nuke. And an impossible task it was. Spirit was quickly eliminated in the pistol round and forZe could walk away with three points after destroying their opponents on Nuke.

Spirit

forZe keeps the 2nd spot in Group B at ESL Pro League S14, following a strong victory against Virtus.pro on Mirage (16-7) and Overpass (16-12). This is forZe’s second victory at the event as they also managed to take down Complexity 2-1 in their opening match, while Virtus.pro on the other side have been handed their second loss.

The action started on forZe’s map pick of Mirage, where they took the first pistol round on the attack and grabbed the next two before Virtus.pro won a round. Virtus.pro started giving up too much space to forZe and struggled on the retakes, which resulted in Jerry and company dominating the half all the way to a 12-3 scoreline. YEKINDAR and company managed to add four rounds on the scoreboard in the second half before forZe closed out Mirage 16-7 in convincing fashion.

On the second map of the series, forZe once again started things off strongly, winning their CT pistol and converting to go 3-0 up. The second Virtus.pro got their hands on guns the dynamic changed, and YEKINDAR and company went on to take the lead right before halftime, 8-7. Even though Virtus.pro came behind 8-11 early on in the second half, they didn’t let the match slip away as they fought a good battle to close out the map 16-13.

On Overpass, forZe wrapped up the series after closing out the map 16-12 to keep their 2nd spot in Group B and push Virtus.pro further down on the table. forZe’s zorte played a massive role and delivered 27 frags to help his team take the victory. He also finished as the series MVP with an impressive 60-37 K/D against a strong Virtus.pro team.

It has not exactly been a straightforward year for Complexity. Starting with an injury for their Bulgarian AWP player to a roster change in the summer break to another injury. With Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke being sidelined due to an injury shortly before Complexity's opening match at ESL Pro League, the expectations for "The Juggernaut" were once again lowered. Not because his stand-in Niels Christian "NaToSaphiX" Sillassen is a bad match for Complexity, but because they once again would have to perform under difficult circumstances.

Their match against forZe was symptomatic for their year - filled with ups and mostly downs. It started on Mirage, where forZe proved too hard to manage. The Russians won their own map pick and got a good start to their ESL Pro League, where they are participating instead of Renegades, who could not travel to Europe due to Covid-19 restrictions.

On Nuke Benjamin 'blameF' Bremer guided his team to 16-12 victory after a very strong CT-side in the second half. 

The match decider was set on Ancient. The new map in the competitive map pool revealed some of the cracks in the ceiling for the new Complexity roster, who got steamrolled in the first half. Down 3-12 it was only a question of time before forZe would find the necessary four rounds to seal the deal. 

On the positive side, "The Juggernaut" could see their new player Patrick 'es3tag' Hansen deliver an impressive debut. Both teams will be back in action tomorrow.

Fnatic, ENCE, FURIA, and Team Spirit had all been eliminated along the way to the Grand Final for forZe and EPG Family.

The two teams had undoubtedly been the strongest at the tournament, and it was therefore only fitting, that the two CIS teams gave each other a brawl of a Grand Final at Spring Sweet Spring.

RPG Family was off to the best start. The ex-Winstrike team managed to break free from forZe at 13-13 in the second half. Good teamplay from Aleksey 'NickelBack' Trofimov set his teammates up to several kills at the end of Overpass to secure the map 16-13.

On Mirage the story was reversed. After an 8-7 lead at the break, it was this time forZe who managed to distance themselves on the scoreboard to win the map and force the Grand Final to Dust2 to be decided.

The last map of the tournament did not disappoint. Both teams had to rely on their snipers to make the difference. Aleksandr 'zorte' Zagodyrenko from forZe had the upperhand on the majority of the map. But when it mattered the most, Aleksey 'El1an' Gusev stepped up to keep EPG Family alive until 15-14! Here a direct AWP-duel between the two of them fell out to zorte and forZe, who went on to secure the victory, $40.000, and a spot at the LAN tournament next year.

The final quarter-finalist at the Spring Sweet Spring 1 event was to be found between forZe and K23. Despite the two teams being incredibly close on paper it was a different story today. ForZe came flying out of the gate and looked as eager as ever to take down their opponents of K23. And that was exactly what they did. With an impressive performance on the second map, they managed to close out the series with a 2-0 victory. 

The first map took place on Mirage. A map known for its open spaces and therefore also the number of aim-duels that are displayed within a match. The same happened when forZe took on K23 today, however, it was clear that one team was hitting far more shots than the other. Due to a great t-sided half, it was forZe to walk away with the victory on Mirage at the scoreline of 16-11. 

The second map, despite being picked by K23, was even less competitive than the first. Once again it was a map with open spaces to be played, this time Dust 2. With a strong CT-sided performance in the first half, forZe could walk to halftime with an impressive lead at 11-4. All they had to do in the second half was to close the series calm and collected. forZe did exactly that and with a 16-5 victory on Dust 2, they could call themselves quarter-finalists.

Extra Salt got a great start in the first map on Inferno, and they were quickly leading 6-1 as the CT side against forZe as the T side.

But the Russian organization wouldn’t give up without a fight as they made it to 6-4, but then the momentum changed again. Extra Salt would go on to win the next nine rounds, to make it to 15-4, and the first map win was just a formality for Extra Salt.

Especially the Canadian FaNg was an absolute machine for Extra Salt in the first map, where he ended the map with a whopping ADR of 117,8. He was the key for Extra Salt in the map that ended in a 16 to 5 slathering of forZe.

The second map on Train started with a strong start from forZe, where they came up 5-1 until Extra Salt chose to step up their game.

Extra Salt ended up making the map competitive as they made it 8-8 just after halftime, but forZe ended up securing the map.

A map that was way closer than the first map, a great team performance by forZe, where three out of the five players on the Russian roster had a rating over 1.20. The three players are zorte, Jerry, and FL1T, they were playing on a very high level together.

After an even start on the last map Nuke at 3-3 then Extra Salt shifted gears, as they won eight rounds in a row to make it 4-11, a great performance, where the T side for forZe didn’t work out as they planned.

But after the half and the change from T to CT the tables turned as it was forZe´s turn to win consecutive rounds, they came back at 10-11 and the game was yet again competitive.  

The last map became even more intense as it was to be decided in overtime at Nuke, after a very close first thirty rounds, where the CT side for both teams was very effective, as they both won their CT side 11-4.

In yesterday's opening round matchup at Funspark ULTI Europe Final, the two strong Russian teams in Virtus.pro and forZe met in a thrilling brawl. The match was surprisingly enough won by forZe, who currently is ranked #46 in the world. 

Throughout the match, the underdogs stunned VP with several smart and effective strategies. Something, Alexandr "zorte" Zagodyrenko definitely did with this counter-boost, which completely denied VP's 4-man tower down T-spawn.

forZe has announced the acquisition of Aleksandr "⁠KENSI⁠" Gurkin and Aleksandr "⁠zorte⁠" Zagodyrenko, who immediately join the active line-up. The two players transfer from ex-ETHEREAL, however, both Zorte and KENSI have played official matches for forZe on trial or as stand-ins. 

The CEO at forZe, Sergey “MegioN” Ignatko has this to say about the signings.

“Changes have been brewing for a long time. This year, we started gradually recruiting new players, including forZe School alumni, rebuilding the game and trying different lineups, depending on the tournaments.

Zorte and KENSI are strong, motivated, young players who are eager to play and train hard. I wish the guys good luck and hope that we will have many victories in the future”

forZe have just announced that their player Dmitriy "facecrack" Alekseyev has been benched and placed on the transfer list. The fact that "facecrack" has been benched and transfer-listed is not a surprise, as forZe for quite some time have utilized stand-ins as a replacement for the 26-year-old Russian. 

The organization has stated that in addition to the news regarding "facecrack", they will be announcing more changes to their roster in the near future. The roster changes will likely concern the team's AWP'er Bogdan "xsepower" Chernikov, as he too has been replaced by stand-ins in the team's previous tournament appearances. 

Both "facecrack" and "xsepower" are currently replaced by stand-ins Aleksandr "zorte" Zagodyrenko and Aleksandr "Kiro" Sherov as the team participates in the Snow Sweet Snow 1 event. Earlier today forZe managed to beat Sinners in their opening round of the event without fielding "facecrack" and "xsepower" in their roster line-up.
