They shouldn’t even be there. GamerLegion failed to qualify for the PGL Major in Copenhagen but was called in the last minute to replace 9Pandas, who could not field a roster due to visa issues shortly before the start of the tournament.

GamerLegion lost 2-1 today in the do-or-die match against Imperial after Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski and his men had won two matches during the Opening Stage to make it to the last day of the first stage of the tournament. With the difficult preparations in mind, in-game leader Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski was somewhat pleased with the impression that GamerLegion left on the tournament in Copenhagen.

- I am obviously not happy with the results, I would rather go through. But I would say that I was a pretty okay run from us, if you look at, we didn’t touch CS for some time, and that keoz (Nicolas "Keoz" Dgus) came straight from Dubai to here, the experienced Polish player stated after the match in an interview with PGL.

Big changes had happened before the start of ESL One Cologne 2014. The map pool of the tournament had seen a major overhaul with Train being removed, while Cache, Cobblestone, and Overpass were added. Overpass had only recently been introduced in the game, which gave way for some controversy before the start of the Major.

Once again Ninjas in Pyjamas was deemed one of the top favorites before the tournament. The Swedes had lost the Grand Final at a Major twice in a row, but with Christopher 'GeT_RiGhT' Alesund back in shape, the expectations were sky-high for the Swedes. Next in line was the previous champions from Virtus.pro, while Dignitas, Natus Vincere, Titan, and Fnatic were in the group of potential outsiders for the trophy.

From the get-go, it was two French teams who stole the spotlight. Team LDLC smashed Group B and qualified in first place for the playoffs. Epsilon repeated the feat in Group A upsetting tournament favorites from Ninjas in Pyjamas. The French roster (fxy0, GMX, kioShiMa, Sf, shox) destroyed NIP 16-6 on Cobblestone to claim first place in the group. This raised the question about NIP's candidacy for the CSGO throne. The Swedes made it through their group and were now paired with the high-flying Cloud9 in the first round of the playoffs.

Fnatic narrowly edged out Natus Vincere, while Epsilon was put to rest by Dignitas (aizy, device, dupreeh, FeTiSh, Xyp9x). The reigning champions Virtus.pro were upset by Team LDLC, while all eyes were set on the last Quarter-Final. In an intense and dramatic match, Ninjas in Pyjamas fought the North Americans in a ferocious battle that ended 2-1 in the favor of the Swedes. 

Fnatic qualified for the Grand Final with a clear 2-0 win against Dignitas. Would it be another all-Swedish final? NIP once again lost the first map, after Team LDLC won on Inferno. But again NIP fought back and forced the match onto Cobblestone, where NIP edged out their opponents 16-14.  

The two Swedish rivals, Fnatic and Ninjas in Pyjamas were ready for their second encounter in a Major Grand Final. This time NIP started off by winning Fnatic's map pick, but then went on to lose Cache. Inferno was set as the decider. Adam 'friberg' Friberg cemented his nickname "King of Banana" with an incredible ace to revive the Ninjas from a poor start. The support player was later named MVP of the tournament. NIP won the title by defeating Fnatic 16-13 and could raise the trophy for the first and so far only time. Notable was the fact, that none of the five NIP players ended the tournament as one of the top 10 best rated players, which also told the story about a tournament filled with ups and downs for the Swedish roster.

The second Major in history took place in March 2014. The venue was the now legendary Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland. Once again 16 teams were gathered to determine, who was the best team in Counter-Strike right now? Since the first Major in Jönköping, VeryGames (Now Titan) had only improved. The roster (Ex6TenZ, NBK, ScreaM, shox, SmithZz) was dubbed tournament favorites going into the Major. The Swedish Ninjas were also among the top favorites while reigning champions from Fnatic were once again considered underdogs compared to Titan and NIP.

Group A delivered the first upset with tournament favorites Titan's exit. A 16-7 loss to Virtus.pro shocked the French/Belgian roster, who had to win the elimination match against HellRaisers to survive. But another loss forced the star-studded roster to be eliminated before the playoffs. Instead the only Polish team in the tournament, Virtus.pro made it through in first place. The roster (TaZ, NEO, pashaBiceps, byali, Snax) had only recently been assembled, but everything seemed to be clicking on home turf.

In the playoffs Virtus.pro annihilated Team LDLC 16-3, 16-8. Now all eyes were on the home crowd's favorites. Fnatic was eliminated in the Quarter-Finals, while Ninjas in Pyjamas once again had qualified for the Grand Final. This time by beating Team Dignitas with three of the legendary Astralis core (Xyp9x, dupreeh, device) on the roster.

Virtus.pro lost their first and only map in the whole event in the Semi-Final against LGB esports (with Olofmeister on the roster), but managed to win the match 2-1 to make it to the Grand Final.

The Grand Final ended with total Polish domination. The underdogs continued their miracle run in front of an ecstatic crowd. 16-9 and 16-10 were the stone-cold facts for Ninjas in Pyjamas, who lost their second consecutive Major final. Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski was awarded the tournament MVP with an immense 1.38 HLTV rating.

Virtus.pro continued to dominate CS:GO in the years to come. They earned themselves the nickname of "The Plow". They never won a Major again though.

The first CS:GO Major to take place was the DreamHack Winter 2013. Before then there had been several big tournaments, but this marked the first time that Valve (the developer of the game) actively went into the planning of a tournament, which gave place for the "Major" term to be used. Valve announced DreamHack as the tournament organizer.

DreamHack Winter 2013 started on the 28th of November 2013. The first match to be played at a Major was Fnatic vs Natus Vincere. The tournament was dominated by Sweden, which had a total of 21 players participating including tournament favorites from Ninjas in Pyjamas. Alongside the French/Belgian roster from VeryGames, NIP was seen as the team to beat at the tournament.

Despite an excellent showing from Richard 'shox' Papillon, VeryGames lost one of their group matches, which ended up pairing them with Ninjas in Pyjamas already in the Semi-Finals. Here NIP dismantled the Frenchmen and qualified for the Grand Final, where they could look forward to an all-Swedish affair against Fnatic. At that time Fnatic had just switched from a Danish roster with Finn 'Karrrigan' Andersen and Andreas 'Xyp9x' Højsleth to an all-Swedish roster with now-legendary names as Jesper "JW" Wecksell and Robin "flusha" Rönnquist. The new roster had made a flawless run at the tournament under excellent guidance from in-game leader Markus "pronax" Wallsten.

In the Grand Final, it all came down to the decider map, Train. Here Jesper "JW" Wecksell (in photo) earned his nickname "Wonderchild". The young Swede annihilated his fellow countrymen going 23-8 in K-D and scoring a 2.04 HTLV rating. Fnatic won the decider map 16-2 to claim the first Major title in history. The "Wonderchild" was named the MVP of the tournament.

Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski is not done competing at the highest level of CS:GO. At least not if you ask the man himself.

Despite turning 30 this year and having won countless top-tier tournaments in his career, the Polish legend still believe he has the level and hunger to compete among the very best in the game. And there’s reportedly also interest from top-shelf teams, the former Virtus.pro star revealed on HLTV Confirmed.  

- Yeah, I got some offers. But they were not that good like, how do I say – it was not the roles that I wanted in the teams, and it was also hard for me to choose between [the offers] because there were a lot of talks, Snax said and continued:

- I would say that I got offers from two teams in Top 10 for sure, and also from teams around Top 20, but I could not find myself anyway in the teams. I would like to play in a team [at the top level] for sure and to win some tournaments again. IEM Dallas showed that I still can do damage and that I still can play.

- But it is hard and I know my limits also. I also understand that if it’s up to the team and they need a new guy, for sure they will take a younger guy. It is like a normal thing.

As mentioned, Snax clearly recognizes his own limitations and he’s not shy to admit that he’s way better on playing on LAN at tournaments than online.

- What I can say is that when I was playing at tournaments [on LAN] that was the best for me … I feel for myself that it’s way better playing offline because there’s this fire, and your only focus is on the games. After so many years of playing in the scene, it’s a little bit harder for me to focus playing at home – it’s so much different.

Snax’s latest experience with top-tier CS:GO were at last year’s IEM Dallas where he temporarily replaced Lotan “Spinx” Giladi on ENCE giving up a super strong performance in Texas. Afterwards, the Polish lurker has played for ex-Finest and most recently a mix team called Let us cook.

On our list, you will have to have played at least 20 maps to be part of the ranking.

1. {cflag:BR} Marcelo "coldzera" David - 1.25 rating (72 maps)

Widely considered one of the best CS:GO players of all time. The Brazilian has been incredibly consistent at the nine Majors in his career winning two of them back in 2016. He is still most famous for his insane double no-scope shot at Mirage that saved Luminosity down 9-15 in the Semi-Final of the MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016.

Coldzera's play inspired his team to a fantastic comeback and was later rewarded with a graffiti from Valve. Coldzera is back in action this year for 00NATION, who was one of the 24 teams, who qualified for IEM Rio. The Brazilian is currently the best player at a Major.

2. {cflag:UA} Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev - 1.21 rating (92 maps)

Probably the best CS:GO player to ever play the game. The Ukrainian finally won a Major last year in Stockholm but has shown some incredible consistency in his performances on the big stage. He has attended 11 Majors, and will always be remembered for his double no-scope kill on Cache.

3. {cflag:UA} Valerii “b1t” Vakhovskyi - 1.18 rating (22 maps)

From two veterans to a newcomer on the big stage. The headshot machine of NAVI was brought in before the PGL Stockholm Major. And what an impact he had! b1t gave NAVI the last push to elevate the team to become the best in 2021 without any doubt. He rocked a 1.21 rating in Stockholm in his Major debut!

4. {cflag:LV} Helvijs "broky" Saukants - 1.17 rating (21 maps)

The Latvian could be looking into grabbing another Major in Rio in November. FaZe is one of the big favorites for the tournament, and luckily for them, they seem to be able to rely on broky as a difference-maker. At his first Major in Stockholm, broky was the best player for FaZe, who had a disappointing run. In Antwerp, he played a big part in FaZe winning the title. The AWP'er also has the ability to perform some sick clutches and is definitely a player to keep an eye on in the future.

5. {cflag:SE} Andreas "znajder" Lindberg - 1.17 rating (21 maps)

29-year-old znajder has had a long career in CS:GO. He won a Major in 2013 with Fnatic, but was also taking part in ELEAGUE Major in 2017 for GODSENT. The Swedish rifler was also skilled with the AWP, and performed at the highest level in all three Majors that he played. At the start of 2021 he was announced on the Lemondogs roster, but has not played any competitive games since the summer of 2021.

6. {cflag:FR} Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut - 1.16 rating (46 maps)

It was always meant to be for ZywOo. He was born on the same day as Counter-Strike's commercial release on November 9, 2000. Dubbed the "Chosen One", ZywOo has also delivered on the big stage. In his four Majors so far, ZywOo has been outstanding on an otherwise mediocre team. Team Vitality has not made it past the Quarter-Final stage despite ZywOo's individual brilliance. Will Rio be the tournament, where ZywOo and Team Vitality breaks through?

7. {cflag:DK} Nicolai "device" Reedtz - 1.15 rating (123 maps)

When is device coming back? Is device coming back? Where is device now? The questions surrounding the Danish AWP god are many, which all seem fair looking at device's Major results. As part of the legendary Astralis roster, device won four Majors and earned two MVP's along the way. His best individual Major was IEM Katowice 2019, where device scored a rating of 1.32.

8. {cflag:US} Timothy "autimatic" Ta - 1.15 rating (29 maps)

The North American player earned himself a reputation from 2017-19 on Cloud9, where the rifler performed consistently in four Majors in a row. The highlight was undoubtedly the Boston ELEAGUE Major in 2018, where Cloud9 on home turf shocked the world and won the Major. Now the American rifler is back and will play his fifth Major at IEM Rio, where he and Evil Geniuses will look to build on their rising form.

As part of one of the most legendary rosters in Counter-Strike history, Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski has made his mark on the game, which we all love. The Virtus.pro rifler has attended 13 Majors in total and finished among the four best in seven of them. On home turf in Katowice in 2014, Snax and Virtus.pro cemented their names in history with a win. His best individual performance was in 2014 at the DreamHack Winther 2014 event.

The now NAVI in-game leader has played eight Majors in his career mostly for NAVI. He made his debut at a Major for the team FlipSid3 together with Andrey 'B1ad3' Gorodenskiy, who is the coach of NAVI now. At the FACEIT Major in London 2018, electroNic was the highest-rated player at the event with a 1.36 rating! The Russian star has won one Major and been in three Grand Finals in total.

A spot in the Grand Final was the prize when ENCE faced FURIA at IEM Dallas. Two very different maps were played, and in the end, it was ENCE who came out on top.

FURIA started strong on their pick of Vertigo. They grabbed themselves a 4-0 T-side lead but ran into a brick wall as soon as ENCE consistently had rifles available. The European squad went on a 10-1 run to end the half, while not really getting challenged by a more-than-usually passive FURIA.

The CT side treated the Brazilians a lot better, and they seemed to have found their groove. Unfortunately so had "Maden" who had some massive impact rounds which gave ENCE the slight advantage they needed to just barely take the map.

"Snax" had the hot hand in the first half of Nuke. While ENCE did not win the first half, the Polish stand-in was the heavy hitter that gave them a very respectable seven rounds at halftime.

The second half was very grim for the Brazilians who did not seem to have an answer for the ENCE defense. They only managed to win a single round, wherein you might say that they got a little lucky. ENCE safely secured the map and are headed to the Grand Final

Due to Lotan “Spinx” Giladi’s visa issues, ENCE were forced to bring a stand-in with them on the plane to Texas for IEM Dallas. They ended up choosing the former Virtus.pro star Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski, despite him having played a minimum amount of top-tier CS:GO in recent years.

 so far at the $250.000 event, Snax has been nothing but outstanding for Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer and company taking the lack of preparation in mind. We have compiled some of his best plays from the event in the video below.

Yesterday ENCE and snax managed to defeat the CS:GO rulers and Major champions from FaZe. In the Bo3 series, it was Snax who ended up being the 'Man of the Match' with a stellar 1.27 Rating / 67-51 K-D / 89.7 ADR stat line.

Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski will be standing in for "Spinx" at IEM Dallas. Those are some massive shoes that the Veteran will have to fill, but the Pole is known to have some tricks up his sleeve.

In this situation, "Snax"s entire team has been eliminated in what was to be an easy anti-eco round for them. Then the seasoned rifler does the impossible and turns the round upside-down.

The former Major winner Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski has been revealed as a stand-in for ENCE at the upcoming IEM Dallas next week. He will replace the star rifler Lotan “Spinx” Giladi who can’t attend the event due to VISA issues, ENCE confirms on Twitter this Tuesday.

Rumors of complications surrounding Spinx's participation at the $250.000 event already hit the news Sunday when ENCE IGL Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer told [link:{"url":"https://www.dust2.us/news/28855/snappi-spinx-hasnt-been-able-to-obtain-a-visa-so-we-might-need-to-play-iem-dallas-with-a-stand-in","isNewTab":true,"text":"Dust2.us"}] that "Spinx hasn't been able to obtain a visa for the US so far, so we might need to play with a stand-in".

Snax is most known for his time at Virtus.pro, where he and the team were among the very best CS:GO teams in the world. Alongside TaZ, NEO, pashaBiceps, and byali, the 28-year-old Pole also managed to grab himself a Major title at ESL Major Series One Katowice in 2014. He has most recently played for the Polish low-tier team Anonymo. 

ENCE, now with Snax on the team, will kick off IEM Dallas against Snax's old team MOUZ (former mousesports) on Monday next week. The event also features top-tier teams like FaZe, NAVI, Astralis and Cloud9.

If you've played CS:GO for a long time you undoubtedly know who Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski is. But for those of you who don't know:

"Snax" is a professional Polish CS:GO player who is currently playing for a team called "MONKE", but is more known for his time with the legendary Virtus.pro team. Most notably he and the team won the ESL Major Series One Katowice 2014 and placed second at ELEAGUE Major: Atlanta 2017. "Snax" was one of the stars of the team, and has always been known to make some outrageous plays.

The former Virtus.pro starJanusz "Snax" Pogorzelski is currently without a contract after he and the Poles from Anonymo parted ways back in December. Despite being a free agent, the 28-year-old veteran still makes sure to maintain his Counter-Strike abilities through frequent streams on Twitch, where he's showcasing his outstanding game sense and aim time after time - and yesterday was no different.

Anonymo

Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski will no longer be a part of Anonymo going into next year, the Polish organization confirms on Twitter this Wednesday. The 28-year-old AWPer leaves the lower-tier side after having represented it since the beginning of January this year. Snax and company didn't manage to present any significant results together. 

The future of the former Virtus.pro profile has not been confirmed yet. 

Anonymo will field the following lineup in 2022.

He did it again, the Polish icon did it again!

He delivered yet another fantastic play with his AWP, this time he got the second kill through the smoke unknowingly shooting, and the last three is just outrageously quick scoping to get all three.

An absolute machine in action, it is almost impossible not to smile when players deliver plays like this one, it feels impossible to think and react so fast, but somehow these guys keep delivered these fantastic moments for us.

Snax and Anonymo ended up winning the match 2-1 against EXTREMUM in the Spring Sweet Snow after a close match between the two.

The second youth for the experienced player seems to be an exceptional spectacle for the supporters!

Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski is on his way back to the top of CS:GO. The 27-year-old AWP'er has been out of the spotlight since 2018, but lately, he has found momentum with his new Polish team Anonymo. The new roster has proved themselves at Flashpoint 3, where they have collected important RMR points for the Stockholm Major.
