Vitality has officially announced that Audric "JACKZ" Jug will stand in for William "mezii" Merriman during the upcoming BLAST Premier World Final. This decision was first revealed by French insider Sebastien "KRL" Perez and later confirmed by the organization to HLTV. The highly-anticipated event, boasting a $1 million prize pool, is set to take place from October 30 to November 3 in Singapore.

Mezii’s Absence Due to Family Commitments

Mezii will be missing the BLAST Premier World Final due to personal commitments, as he is expecting to become a father around the time of the tournament. Vitality’s coach, Rémy "XTQZZZ" Quoniam, disclosed that the decision to enlist JACKZ as a stand-in was made nearly two months ago, underscoring the team’s meticulous planning ahead of the event.

Preparations Unhindered for the Perfect World Shanghai Major

Despite the temporary roster change, Vitality’s focus remains on the upcoming Perfect World Shanghai Major cycle. XTQZZZ assured that the team’s preparation for this significant event will not be compromised. The European Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournament, which serves as a qualifier for the Major, is scheduled to commence 14 to 18 days after the conclusion of the BLAST Premier World Final, depending on the grouping in which Vitality is placed.

Earlier in 2023, the 32-year-old French player replaced Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen during the group stage of ESL Pro League Season 17 while dupreeh was on parental leave. Yesterday a new generation of TSM players were announced on X.

The new international team will consist of a mixture of experience and youth. Audric "⁠JACKZ⁠" Jug and Valdemar "⁠valde⁠" Bjørn Vangså will spearhead the project with the two 20-year-olds Cai "⁠CYPHER⁠" Watson and Mădălin-Andrei "⁠MoDo⁠" Mirea to provide additional firepower. CYPHER makes the move from Into the Breach, where he was one of the most exciting prospects coming out of the BLAST.tv Major in Paris, where the British team surprised everyone by reaching the playoffs. Romanian AWP'er MoDo is set to make his debut in the Tier-1 scene after having played for Nexus since December 2022. Lastly, the former Cloud9 player Timofey "⁠interz⁠" Yakushin gets a chance to prove his worth on an international team.

During a Faceit match, JACKZ took upon Level 10 Faceit players in a regular Faceit game. Tied 2-2 on Nuke, JACKZ stood alone against four opposing team players. With just an AK-47 and half HP after killing the first player, JACKZ stood tall to secure his team their third round on the T side.

30-year-old Audric "JACKZ" Jug is currently on the bench for the French team HEET. The last time we saw JACKZ in action was at ESL Pro League Season 17 where we played as a stand-in for Dupreeh under the vitality banner. 

Following Vitality's success during the ESL Pro League Season 17, Vitality fans are hoping to see jackZ in the playoffs. However, apEX Tweeted why they need to play with dupreeh and how important he is for the team. 

Despite apEX wanting dupreeh to come back and play with them during the playoffs. You can't take for granted how jackZ has been playing for the Vitality roster during the event. During the event, Audric "JACKZ" Jug produced some impressive numbers averaging 1.26 rating / 82.7 ADR / 0.80 KPR / 1.35 Impact throughout the six maps that Vitality played. The French/Danish roster managed to qualify for the quarter-finals after they took down FaZe 2-0.

Audric “JACKZ” Jug is currently helping out Vitality at ESL Pro League Season 17 due to the absence of the newly-become father Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen. Something the French stand-in has done to perfection so far with a strong individual performance yesterday against Grayhound.

There was also a lot of admiration and praise for JACKZ from his temporary captain Dan "apEX" Madesclaire when they spoke with ESL following their 2-0 victory over the Aussies. 

- He’s old like me, we are both 30. But he still has something to prove and I think he still has it...

- I don’t think JACKZ has been used in the right way in his previous teams with the way he plays. I think he’s a guy who can run first and a guy where you need to put nades around him. The good thing about him is that you know that he won’t stop pressing W.

Especially JACKZ’s aim is something that impresses apEX.

Team Vitality’s Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen is set to miss out on the upcoming ESL Pro League Season 17, which kicks off in six days. The Danish rifler is reportedly taking parental leave in anticipation of the birth of his child. 

In an official document shared by the tournament organizers from ESL, it has been revealed that Team Vitality have registered former G2, and currently benched HEET player, Audric “JACKZ” Jug in their lineup to fill out the gap for the Danish, who is expected to return for the BLAST Paris Major Regional Ranking event. This event will be JACKZ’ first official appearance back on the server since he was benched from the French roster in HEET.

The 30-year-old rifler is set to leave HEET following their economic issues that have been floating around the roster for some time now. JACKZ is still a part of HEET but the veteran is currently in discussion with the team owners as the organization owes him around $75,000.

For the past three months, the former G2 rifler is averaging 0.94 Rating / 0.82 Impact / 64.0 ADR / 0.60 KPR while playing under the HEET banner.

Earlier in January HEET also said goodbye to their former captain and leader Alexandre "body" Pianaro and their star AWPer Aurélien "afro" Drapier. Following their departure HEET has been left with only two players in their active roster going forward. 1pv.fr also states that the French team is seeking to hire Bryan "Maka" Canda and Matthieu "Razzmo" Mellot who both have been on the bench in their previous teams.

Unpaid salary and organizations owing money to their players is unfortunately not a rare sight in esports.

Over the weekend, the popular streamer Sébastien "KRL" Perez could [link:{"url":"https://twitter.com/KRL_stream/status/1612165560254746625","isNewTab":true,"text":"report "}]another incident stating that the Belgian organization HEET owes €100,000 to two of their players.

Following KRL’s uncovering, HEET went out and confirmed that they are owing money to Audric "JACKZ" Jug and Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro through a statement by their COO Jasur “Jazz” Avizov.

- I just wanted to talk to you about the talks on Twitter regarding us owing players money. Yes, we do owe Jackz his buyout. Yes, we do owe Alex part of the salary. But it doesn't mean that players are not getting any salary since we sign them. The struggle we are having are bigger amounts, Avizov wrote.

JACKZ allegedly paid his own buyout which HEET afterwards were meant to pay back, while the problem with bodyy is due to some changes with his back reportedly. But they are neither scamming nor trying to steal from the players, Jazz further explains.

- We did some mistakes, which hit us financially really hard. But it doesn't mean that we are trying to steal from players or scam them. We are searching for solutions and ways to get the budget as soon as we can to pay back players. It is not like we are sitting on a pile of gold and not letting anyone touch it. We were always about the players, and I hope players know that.

We have reached out to Jasur “Jazz” Avizov for a confirmation on the figure (€100,000) that KRL states HEET owes the players. However, he hasn't replied at the time of publication.

Audric "JACKZ" Jug has left the G2 camp in order to join his new teammates from HEET.

The Frenchman is the second player to leave G2 after Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen was axed earlier in the summer in order for G2 to revamp the roster after a disappointing first half of 2022. The exit of JACKZ ends his four-year tenure at G2. During his time on G2, JACKZ reached several Grand Finals including the PGL Stockholm Major in 2021, but did not manage to break the G2 curse and win a trophy.

Within minutes of his departure from G2, JACKZ was announced as a new player for HEET.

As one of the founding members of HEET (previously DBL Poney), JACKZ will return home to the all-French team, where he will replace Lucas "Lucky" Chastang in the lineup.

Since the conclusion of IEM Cologne rumors have hinted at several roster changes at G2 after they failed to qualify for the playoffs in Germany.

While Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen himself has confirmed the rumor on his Twitter, nothing public has been said about his teammate Audric "JACKZ" Jug. According to the French media 1.pv, JACKZ will also be replaced on G2, and could very well be on his way to the Belgian Organization HEET, which fields an all-French team. Here he can be reunited with Alexandre 'bodyy' Pianaro, Aurélien 'afro' Drapier, and Thomas 'Djoko' Pavoni with whom he played at the very start of the project, where the team was named DBL Poney.

On HEET JACKZ is set to replace Lucas "Lucky" Chastang in the lineup. HEET will be among the teams in the upcoming ESL Pro League 16.

jks haven’t played many official CS:GO matches here in 2022 following his benching on Complexity towards the end of last year. Yet, the 26-year-old has still managed to win a trophy when he stood in for FaZe at IEM Katowice, where he ended up playing a huge role for the Finn “karrigan” Andersen-led squad.

Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen and Audric “JACKZ” Jug’s days at G2 seem to be numbered as the duo has been given permission to explore options outside of the G2 organization. Something Aleksib confirmed on Twitter a few days ago, [link:{"url":"https://www.1pv.fr/news/142170-g2-jackz-also-free-to-explore-his-options","isNewTab":true,"text":"where 1pv.fr published a report yesterday stating the same thing about JACKZ"}].

That means G2 is set to rebuild once again – only six months after shaking up their roster with the signing of Aleksib and the Russian wonderkid Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov. However, the Aleksib-led team has failed to present a satisfactory level despite starting off great with a second place at IEM Katowice in February.

G2 hasn’t posted any official statement about JACKZ and Aleksib’s situation but G2 owner Carlos "ocelote" Rodríguez Santiago wrote the following on Twitter after the team’s exit at IEM Cologne.

It was Portugal vs Dream Team at the showmatch before the Grand Final at BLAST Premier Spring Finals.

Playing on the "Dream Team" was degster, karrigan, m0NESY, ropz, and JACKZ, who went up against a Portuguese team where Ricardo "fox" Pacheco was leading the pack. The two teams played on the old Counter-Strike map Tuscan, which has been reworked since the good old 1.6 days.

With Natus Vincere securing the first spot in tomorrow's Grand Final of the ongoing BLAST Premier Spring Final 2022 event, we are left with only one spot left. The last Grand Finalist is to be found between two big names as G2 and Vitality go head to head in an exciting Bo3-series. The winner of the Semi-final will earn the right to play against Natus Vincere tomorrow for a chance to become the champions of the event. On paper G2 were the slight favorites going into the Bo3-series, however, once the two rosters entered the server it was clear that very little separated the two. A close battle, that went all three maps concluded with Vitality as the victor. 

The first map of the Bo3-series took place on the iconic map of Dust 2 and was picked by the French and Danish roster of Vitality. Looking at the numbers it is apparent that both teams are more than capable of putting up a great performance on Dust 2 and a thriller was on the cards for the first map of the series. Already in the first half of Dust 2, it was a close affair. With little separating the two teams, G2 proved slightly more potent on their CT-side as the first half concluded at the scoreline of 9-6. The second half, however, saw a dangerously cohesive and strong defense from Vitality. With "ZywOo" performing like almost always does, the French and Danish combination proved too difficult for G2 to break down. At the scoreline of 16-13, it was Vitality to claim Dust 2 and secure an advantage going forward in the Bo3-series. 

The second map of the series was, of course, picked by G2 and saw the brawl continue on Inferno. Few teams have looked as dangerous as G2 on the Italian soil of Inferno as of late. Currently sitting on a 88% win rate on the map (8 maps) in the past three months, it seemed an impossible task for Vitality to close out the Semi-final in just two maps. Once Inferno got rolling it was clear which team was the better on the map. A stellar performance, led by headshot machine "JACKZ" saw G2 dominate Vitality and take home the victory at the scoreline of 16-8. 

The third and final map of the Bo3-series took place on Nuke. A map that is known for its tactical possibilities and seemed the perfect place for "apEX" and "Aleksib" to have their final showdown before a winner was found between the two rosters. A close battle from start to finish kicked off on Nuke as neither team gave their opponent an inch. A slow CT-sided half from Vitality meant an 8-7 lead at halftime for "NiKo" and his troops. Whilst Nuke is said to be a CT-sided map, Vitality seemed far more potent once they had switched to the offense on Nuke. A stellar performance from "ZywOo" catapulted Vitality into a lead in the late stages of the map. At the scoreline of 16-13 it was Vitality to finally close out the Bo3-series and celebrate as they look forward to a thriller of a Grand Final against Natus Vincere tomorrow.

It was a playoffs-or-elimination match when FURIA and G2 took to the server. When the two last met at IEM Katowice, G2 took a narrow three-map victory.

FURIA started great on the T side of their pick, Vertigo. The Brazilians went up 6-2 and it looked as though they would dominate the first half. Unfortunately for the South Americans, a man called "huNter-" had other plans. The Bosnian led his team back in contention, and to an 8-7 halftime lead.

The G2 squad did not find the same success on the T side as "arT" was relentlessly bullying them around Ramp. Add to this the fact that "yuurih" had an incredible game and you have got a FURIA win.

Moving onto G2's pick of Inferno, it was the unlikely duo of "JaCkz" and "arT" that shone for their respective teams in the first half. As close as can be at 8-7 at halftime these two entry-fraggers both had an ADR of over 100.

The second half continued in the same close fashion and went the full thirty rounds. "KSCERATO" almost pulled out a 1v4 in the dying stages of the map, but "JaCkz" took him down and secured their map pick.

FURIA had a good start to the T side of Ancient which was the last map of the series. The Brazilian squad went up 4-3 but the rest of the half belonged to the Europeans who ended the half on a 7-1 streak.

The second half started with four straight rounds of force-buy wars. All of the rounds were extremely close, but "arT" and co. ended out on top, and drove it home from there with a ten-round winstreak.

G2's Major dreams are over as they get knocked out and see FURIA advance to the quarter-finals.

The fourth day of play in Group A at ESL Pro League Season 15 didn't disappoint at all!

With the group nearing its end, every round, every map and every point counts in the pursuit of a prestigious playoff spot at the $823.000 tier-1 event. In yesterday's late matchup we saw a G2 side with their backs to the wall taking on the Russians from Entropiq. See how it went in the video below. 

The 15th season of the iconic ESL Pro League was kicked off yesterday with three quite one-sided 2-0 victories to G2, Entropiq and NIP in their respective matches. 

At the look of things, today's matches should be more competitive on paper, with the exciting head-to-head between NBK and his former team in G2, where MOUZ will have to upset the strong group favourites, who are still playing without their IGL, Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen.

The first quarterfinal of the day had the star-studded lineup of G2 going up against the heavily team-focused Virtus.pro.

G2 chose to start the match on Mirage, the home of “m0NESY”, even though they’ve only won the map one out of three times so far at the tournament.

It was the European squad on the T-side that started best as they picked up the first three rounds of the map. After this point, it got really hard for G2 to take rounds. Virtus.pro, led by always-present “Jame”,  was consistently bashing them in mid and taking space in apartments and on ramp. “m0NESY” did though manage to carry his team to a respectable six rounds before the break.

G2 got right back into it as they quickly brought themselves into the lead 10-9 after switching sides. Virtus.pro looked really strong when they had full-buys and soon they found themselves back in the lead and looking like the favorites to take map 1. “m0NESY” had been consistent throughout the map, but it was the awakening of “huNter-“ and “Aleksib” that put G2 back in the driver’s seat. This allowed them to get map point, but unfortunately for them, they couldn’t close it out and the map went into overtime.

The map went into three overtimes as the teams couldn’t seem to separate from each other. G2 failed to convert on three map-points in overtime, but a 2v5 from “m0NESY” and “Aleksib” was what finally put them over the line at 25-22.

The action continued on Virtus.pro’s pick of Ancient where G2 on the CT-side, started the map out by securing their third pistol-round of the day. “huNter-“, “NiKo” and “JACKZ” were all scorching hot from the get-go, and this fueled G2 to a dominating early lead of 7-0. Virtus.pro, who has looked great on this map recently, had a very hard time finding answers throughout the half, and with only “Jame” putting up big numbers the halftime score was 12-3 in favor of G2.

The second half started out in an extremely scrappy way, with the teams just trading rounds back and forth in the force-buy wars. This meant that G2 very quickly were able to get to map point at 15-5 and close it out 16-5.

This result sees Virtus.pro knocked out of IEM Katowice, while G2 move on to face Na'Vi tomorrow.

The upper final started with Vitality’s map pick of Vertigo, but it was G2 to set the early tempo taking a 4-1 lead. G2's strong start was answered back by Vitality, who started finding the right footing late in the first half to close the gap to 9-6. Despite, Vitality beginning to find their footing late in the first half, they struggled to stabilize their defense in the second. NiKo's troops extended the lead 12-7. But Vitality started to make a comeback attempt despite the massive deficit.  ZywOo and company managed to tie up the game, 12-12. The Europeans were unable to stay in contention, only adding two more rounds to their tally before Vitality cruised to a 16-12 finish.

The second map to be played on Mirage, picked by G2. Once again, the Europeans got off to a good start, taking the lead 5-1 on the offense. The Frenchmen managed to take five rounds of their own before switching sides, trailing 5-10 at halftime. But similar to the first map, ZywOo and company had another gear in the second half, managed to take the lead for the first time 13-12. However, that still wasn't enough to secure victory as G2 battled back with three rounds in the closing moments to take a 16-14 map win.

The third and final map to be played was Inferno which saw Vitality start as the terrorist while G2 would be defending. The decider got off to a similar start, as G2 went up 5-1. Vitality came alive on the offense, as they strung four in a row powered by apEX to keep the score close. Switching sides saw G2 set the early pace again, winning the second pistol, further extended their lead 13-9. G2 did not let go of the lead and refused to cede control, only dropping two rounds in the second half as they claimed victory 16-9 and the series 2-1.
