The last team in the playoffs of the Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022 has been found. A stellar performance from the predominately Swedish roster of Team Finest meant that they were able to move past Imperial in a 2-0 victory securing their lives at the event. We talked with "twist" about just how great it felt when they managed to surpass the iconic Brazilians and avoid elimination from the tournament: 

Team Finest were by no means expected to go this far at the event and taking down such big names as "fer" and "FalleN" is a challenge no matter what team you are. Despite this, however, they managed to do exactly that. In their first-ever LAN with their roster, Team Finest secured a spot in the playoffs and perhaps more importantly on the big stage in front of a Swedish crowd. "twist" states that it has been a long time since he last played in front of a home-crowd and that he looks forward to doing so tomorrow: 

"twist" and his teammates of Team Finest are set to brawl against the Danish Heroic tomorrow, where the loser will be eliminated from the event. Whilst Imperial are no easy opponent, Heroic is perhaps an entirely different beast to handle. When asked about how sees the game tomorrow going, against a somewhat unorthodox opponent in Heroic, he answered the following: 

Team Finest and Heroic are scheduled to lock horns at 16.00 (CEST) tomorrow. The winner of the clash earns a spot in the Consolidation Final, whereas the loser is out of the event for good. With three teams having already qualified for the playoffs in the Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022 event, it was time to find out the fourth and final contender in the playoffs. The last team would either be Imperial or Team Finest as the two rosters were set up for a thrilling brawl against each other. The iconic Brazilians of Imperial, spearheaded by "FalleN" were, without doubt, the favorites on paper going into the Bo3-series against Team Finest. Despite this, however, it was the predominately Swedish roster of Team Finest to come out on top in the end. An exciting brawl ended with Team Finest as the victors which means that they are set to face Heroic in a battle for further survival at the Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022. 

The first map of the Bo3-series was picked by Imperial and saw the Bo3-series kick off on Overpass. When looking at the numbers it is perhaps nu surprise that "FalleN" and his troops opted for Overpass as their own map pick. The experienced roster of Imperial have managed an impressive win rate of 82% in the past three months on Overpass (11 maps), whereas Team Finest have only managed to win 30% of their games (10 maps). Despite the statistics speaking heavily in favor of Imperial, it was Team Finest to hit the ground running and start Overpass the strongest. A solid CT-sided half saw Team Finest go to halftime with a small lead at the scoreline of 9-6. After switching sides, the cohesive and impressive performance from Team Finest continued. On the arguably harder T-side, they managed to further expand the lead against Imperial and ultimately close out the first map of the Bo3-series at the scoreline of 16-9. 

The second map of the brawl between Team Finest and Imperial was, of course, picked by Team Finest. For the second map of the series, Vertigo was picked. Whilst Overpass seemed to favor Imperial on paper, Vertigo was heavily favored toward Team Finest. Having only managed to win on Vertigo once in the past three months (7 maps), the Brazilians had a tough task ahead of them as Team Fines, now with momentum carrying over from Overpass, have won 52% of their matches on Vertigo (12 maps) on the past three months. Things were as close as possible in the first half of Vertigo, with Imperial starting on the arguably stronger CT-side. After trading rounds back and forth the first concluded at the scoreline of 9-6, in favor of Team Finest. The second was far less close as Team Finest seemed impossible for Imperial to beat on their CT-side. A cohesive and impressive performance from Team Finest concluded with them as victors on Vertigo at the scoreline of 16-9, meaning a 2-0 victory against Imperial.

Finest stay alive in the Pinnacle Cup Championship following a 2-0 victory over EG.PA, who are now eliminated from the event. The North American squad didn’t achieve the results they hoped for in their debut together under their new banner, as they are now out of the tournament on the first day of play. 

twist and the rest of the Finest roster will face off against the loser of Astralis vs. Imperial in their next match on Thursday, which means Finest possibly can get revenge over FalleN’s men who kicked them down to the lower bracket of the tournament.

The Brazilians from Imperial handed Finest a 12-16 defeat on Dust2 in Group B’s second match of the day. With the victory, FalleN and company are now through to Group B’s winners’ match where they will be taking upon Astralis on Thursday at 11:00 (CET) for a spot in the upper bracket of playoffs. Meanwhile, Finest will be playing for their tournament lives today at 17:00 (CET) against the former Party Astronauts roster, who is now a part of Evil Geniuses' 15-man pool. If Finest wants to play in front of their home crowd in the playoffs they will have to beat EG.PA as well as the loser of Imperial vs. Astralis.

The Professor, better known as FalleN, truly put up a vintage performance in the Bo1 match against Finest as he finished on top of the scoreboard with a 1.47 Rating and 29 kills.

The 16 teams for the Elisa Invitational Winter’s Main Swiss Stage have been announced, with nine invited teams and the last seven through qualifiers.

The tournament is set to take place from January 17 until February 13, where the top four will qualify for the Elisa Invitational Winter's main event. They will be joined by four invited teams on March 3-5 in Finland.
