Espada has secured a spot in the DreamHack Open December 2020 event after a 2-0 victory against the Norwegian-side from Apeks on Dust2 (16-13) and Mirage (16-11) to end their run with style in this eight-team single-elimination tournament.

Abdul “degster” Gasanov was the top performer on the server, delivering a 1.49 rating, 88.4 ADR, and a 54-30 score to help his team lock in the spot for the $100.000 competition.

Espada are the fourth team confirmed for the event, which will take place between December 10 and 13. The final four teams will be invited by DreamHack.

Dignitas secured a spot in the playoffs at MIDNITE Nine to Five 7 after eliminating and defeating Espada 2-0 on Dust2 (16-4) and Nuke in overtime (19-17). 

Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg didn’t only finish on top of the scoreboards with an impressive overall rating of 1.51, 93.5 ADR, and a 53-28 score. But also made a genius play in the 25th round by outsmarting and confusing his opponent who had to defuse the bomb.

The winner advances to playoffs, while the losing team is eliminated from the tournament. Both teams have a currently 2-2 record in the event. 

The Russian-side are favorites going into the elimination game against friberg’s Dignitas and have a 4-map winning streak on Overpass which are their favorite map. Espada are better ranked at no. #27, while the team with well-known legends are worse ranked at #38.

Which one of the teams will take home the victory and advance to the playoffs? 

Gambit demonstrated in their first game at Nine to Five 6, why they are seen as the heavy favourites at the event. The young Russian team has been in very sharp form over the last couple of months which they continued in this quarterfinal against their countrymen from Espada, beating them 2-0 on Mirage (16-12) and Train (16-7).

Gambit and SKADE will clash tomorrow at 09:00 (CET), in a thrilling semifinal.

Gambit managed to come out on top of the qualifier after cruising through the single-elimination bracket without losing a single map before the grand final, where they overcame a defeat on the first map Mirage (14-16) as they won on Train (16-9) and Overpass (16-6) to close out the series.

Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov who was the top player of the game and the rest of the team will play in DreamHack Open November at the end of the month, where they will be joining seven other teams.

So far only four teams have been confirmed at the event and two more teams will be determined via the Danish Elgiganten Ligaen and the ESL Polish Championship, while two more will receive invites.

After starting out by winning against the two lower ranked teams in Cyber Legacy and K23, NAVI has been defeated both by Virtus.pro and forZe. That means that the world #5 and arguably the most successful team in the region is placed outside of the playoff spot at a 4th place.

NAVI has to win today’s game against Espada to stay in the tournament. A tournament which not only gives you the bragging rights as the current best team in the region, but also very important RMR points.

Given into NAVI’s shaky form and a well-playing Espada side, the match can be more difficult than expected.
