Since the HLTV Awards launched in 2021, the show has crowned the biggest headline winners, and from 2022 onward it also introduced a set of panel-selected role awards to spotlight the best specialists in the game. These categories are often seen as less prestigious than Player of the Year, but they are still one of the clearest ways to track which players defined their roles at the highest level.
