Spirit lean on donk and NAVI hunt for a T side before their Bucharest decider

donk had 35 kills on Mirage and an ace, and MOUZ still beat Team Spirit for the fourth time since the summer break. A few hours later, iM got one kill on NAVI’s T sides against Vitality. On , the two teams meet at two wins and two losses at PGL Masters Bucharest 2026: the winner takes a quarter-final place, the loser goes home.

Team Spirit came to Romania as the top team in HLTV’s ranking and have now lost two of their four series. NAVI were 2-0 after the weekend and have lost both matches since, without a single map win. Their series is the last match of the Swiss stage.

Both sides arrive with a clear weak spot. Spirit’s is how much of the work falls on one player. NAVI’s is everything that happens after half-time.

35 kills on Mirage and a 16-14 defeat

Spirit’s 1-2 defeat by MOUZ on Tuesday afternoon followed the pattern of their whole autumn against the same opponent. Spirit took MOUZ’s pick, Nuke, 13-2 after a 10-2 first half. MOUZ answered on Spirit’s own Dust2 pick, 13-8, and the decider on Mirage went to overtime.

There, donk did everything one player can. He finished the map 35-20 with 123.6 ADR, and one of his rounds was an ace that PGL’s desk singled out in its highlights. The other four Spirit players had 61 kills between them. Spirit led 12-10, MOUZ levelled, and the overtime ended 4-2 to MOUZ for 16-14.

It was the second time in four days that Spirit lost a Mirage 16-14 in overtime. BetBoom did the same to them on Saturday.

MOUZ timed out at 12-11, one round from losing in regulation. Spinx told PGL’s broadcast after the match that the message in that pause was simple: “we are here to play this type of moment”. Asked how MOUZ had dealt with donk, the Israeli gave him credit first.

Yeah, donk was on fire. It was annoying a bit. Especially, I felt it on the third map.

Then came the part MOUZ were happier about: “as a team, we played better. We moved better.”

The broadcast host pointed out that Spirit had MOUZ’s number in the first half of the season and that the balance has tipped since the summer. Spinx’s explanation was one map: “I think we stopped losing Dust2.” He said it had been “pretty annoying” to work hard on Dust2 and still lose it whenever Spirit, Vitality or Falcons took MOUZ there, and that the team now goes into the map believing “we can beat anyone”.

Four defeats in five meetings since August

The numbers back him up. MOUZ won the BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals series 3-1 in August, beat Spirit twice at ESL Pro League Season 24, including the semi-final, and have now done it again in Bucharest. Spirit’s only win in that run was the BLAST Open Porto 2026 grand final in September.

torzsi added an edge to the rivalry when he spoke to HLTV after the game. “They also trash talked us a little bit before the last map,” the AWPer said, calling the Mirage win a statement. He did not say what had been said. On donk, he was blunt: “We just understand how to bully donk a little bit and not give him too much space.”

Spirit also played without their head coach. hally was reportedly ill, NarT wrote during the match, and Spirit Academy coach S0tF1k took his place behind the players. On Wednesday morning, there was no word on whether hally will be back for NAVI.

donk himself gave his verdict in a video on Spirit’s X account on Tuesday evening. He speaks Russian, and the English below is from Spirit’s own subtitles. MOUZ started to snowball, especially on Dust2, he said, and Spirit “just failed to win rounds in easy situations and made things complicated ourselves”. On Mirage, the map where he scored 35, his explanation was form: “Our individual form just wasn’t good enough. It was a subpar performance, that’s it. In general, that’s why we lost.”

One T-side kill for iM

NAVI’s evening was shorter. Team Vitality took NAVI’s Inferno pick 13-2 and came back from 3-9 at half-time on Dust2 to win 13-9, with all ten rounds of the second half. We covered the series here.

The worst of it was on the T side. NAVI attacked for 22 rounds across the two maps and won two of them. iM, who finished the series 16-32 with 45.8 ADR, got one kill in those 22 rounds, as NarT pointed out. On Inferno he went 2-15.

The problem runs deeper than one series. NAVI led BetBoom at half-time on both maps on Monday and lost both, and on Tuesday they led Vitality 9-3 on Dust2. Over their last four maps, NAVI have won four of the 34 rounds played after the break.

Aleksib leads NAVI into the match a day after a Finnish district court gave him a four-month suspended sentence for aggravated tax fraud over undeclared income from 2019, a ruling he can appeal until 26 November.

Five straight series for Spirit

The history between the two is one-sided. Spirit have won the last five meetings, from BLAST Open Lisbon in March 2025 to the IEM Cologne Major in June this year, and lost one map out of eleven along the way, a Nuke at IEM Cologne 2025. In Cologne in June it was 13-8 on Anubis and 13-1 on Dust2.

The map pools over the last three months, as HLTV counts them for the two current lineups, leave NAVI little to hide behind:

Map win rate, past three months
MapSpirit logo SpiritNAVI logo NAVI
Anubis80% (10 maps)67% (3 maps)

Mirage53% (15 maps)25% (8 maps)
Cache50% (8 maps)75% (4 maps)
Infernono maps40% (10 maps)

Cache is the one map where NAVI have the better record, from a small sample, and Inferno is the one Spirit have not played at all. NAVI picked Inferno against Vitality on Tuesday and lost it 13-2.

The odds have Spirit at around 1.38 and NAVI at around 2.80. Spirit are first in HLTV’s ranking and third in Valve’s Regional Standings, NAVI 11th and 16th. According to HLTV’s projection, NAVI would gain 80 points and climb five places to 11th in the standings with a win, while a defeat would cost Spirit 25 points and third place.

The match closes a Wednesday with three eliminations and three quarter-final places: The MongolZ play Nemiga at , and Team Liquid face FURIA at . All results are on our PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 page.
