Daniel "mertz" Mertz still got what it takes to play at a high level. During a match in the Danish league, the 24-year-old secured his team the pistol round after he took down all five players of XI SponsorWorld. Standing alone against three and without the bomb mertz took down all three players with quick headshots.

The last time mertz played professional Counter-Strike was back in 2021 when the 24-year-old played under the Nordavind banner. Since departing from professional CS, he tried to pursue a career in VALORANT, before returning to CS:GO six months later on March 28th, 2022.

According to Dust2.dk is the known AWPer Daniel "mertz" Mertz on his way to a new team XI ESPORT. The team is currently competing in the Danish CS:GO 1. Division.

Mertz departed from his former team Sashi back in early December, [link:{"url":"https://www.dust2.dk/nyheder/32924/dust2dk-erfarer-mertz-er-tilbage","isNewTab":true,"text":"Dust2.dk"}] now states that the 24-year-old Dane is on his way to another Danish team. 

Despite being only 24-year-old has the AWPer played for well-known Danish teams such as North, Heroic, and Copenhagen Flames. 

The last time the Dane played in a professional match was against DBL PONEY back in 2021 for Nordavind. 

The 24-year-old Dane, mertz, who started to compete professionally in CS:GO back in 2015, is no longer a part of Sashi and is now seeking new opportunities. During his career, mertz has played for top teams like Heroic, North, Copenhagen Flames, Team Singularity, and Nordavind before he decided to pursue a career in Valorant. About 2 months ago, he made his return to Counter-Strike and joined The Prodigies before finding his way into the Sashi roster.

Earlier this week there were rumors going around that the former Danish CS:GO player, Daniel “mertz” Mertz, might return to the Valve shooter after a short stint in Valorant. This has now been confirmed!

The 24-year-old Dane bid farewell to his CS:GO career back in January earlier this year, but is now back and ready to compete for The Prodigies. Mertz started competing professionally in CS:GO back in 2015 and has during his career played for top teams like Heroic, North, Copenhagen Flames, Team Singularity, x6tence, and Nordavind. Now that mertz is back where his heart belongs, he will hope to grind his way back to the top of CS:GO with The Prodigies.

The 24-year-old Dane will eventually be joining The Prodigies, where he will try to grind his way back to the top of CS:GO. Before mertz made the switch to VALORANT, he played under the Nordavind banner from February 2021 to January 2022, when the organization decided to transfer list the entire roster as a so-called strategic move rather than performance-related. Mertz has played for several well-known teams during his CS:GO career.

The former Heroic and North AWPer is looking to return to competitive CS:GO after his transition to the rival FPS shooter Valorant back in September last year. On Twitter, the Danish AWPer has stated that his current team won’t block a potential shift.

- Heretics have allowed me to explore my options for next split. I'm more motivated than ever to return to CS:GO and prove what I'm capable of, mertz said.

mertz has previously represented teams like Heroic and North, where he once was seen as one of the most promising AWPing talents in Counter-Strike at one time. Despite the high potential, mertz never really managed to live up to the expectations, which also stood clear after his latest tenures at Nordavind and x6tence.

The 23-year-old Daniel “mertz” Mertz has announced his retirement from competitive CS:GO. The AWPer hang up his boots after having played professional Counter-Strike since 2015, where he has represented profiled teams like North and Heroic.

mertz’s esports adventure isn’t over yet, as he explains on Twitter that he will switch to Riot’s FPS shooter, Valorant.

- It's about me not having the same passion for my otherwise lifelong love for CS. Lately, it hasn't sparked the same interest as it used to, and I could tell by looking at myself that the drive it takes to be at the top has slowly been lost as the years have gone by. Having said that, I feel quite the opposite about the new challenge at VALORANT. I feel I can play it all hours of the day and have no obstacles on that front, mertz says to Dust2.dk.

The Norwegian CS:GO organization, Nordavind has released their entire roster this Wednesday, putting an end to a 6-month period for this exact roster. The team was under the guidance of the North American coach Joshua “m1cks” Micks, who not managed to lead Daniel “mertz” Mertz and company to any significant results.

Nordavind assures that they “are not leaving the CS:GO scene and will soon reveal our plans for the future”

The now-benched roster was formed in February this year when Nordavind revealed a new international roster. The team was built around the strong and profiled AWPer mertz and the experienced and former Sprout player in Sabit “mirbit” Coktasar.

The five players will now have to look after a new CS:GO home to continue their careers.

The first round of the playoffs at the Snow Sweet Snow 3 event has concluded. That, of course, means that the four teams advancing to the Quarter-finals have been found. Take a look at how the opening round of the playoffs went. 

the SKADE roster seemed eager and ready to fight when they entered the server. Starting strong by winning their map pick on Overpass 16-8 they carried their momentum through to the second map on Nuke. Despite being the pick of Anonymo, the Polish roster had very little room for error as SKADE relentlessly pushed them back. Ultimately they took home Nuke with a 16-8 scoreline and thereby also the series with a 2-0 victory. 

SKADE is set to face mousesports in the Quarter-finals where they will have to see if they can carry on their form.

The series of the day turned out to be Wisla Krakow vs. Nordavind. A series that went all the way and in close fashion. Ultimately, however, it was Wisla Krakow and its Polish roster to have the slight edge over their opponents. With all three maps going to overtime and despite "mertz" best attempt to carry his team it was Wisla Krakow that, in the end, could call themselves Quarter-finalists with a 2-1 victory. 

The victory means a spot at the Quarter-finals where they will have to defeat fnatic in order to further advance in the tournament.

ex-Winstrike proved themselves the superior roster against Sinners today. Catching the Sinners off guard was the ex-Winstrike roster, as they managed to sweep away the first map with an impressive scoreline of 16-1. The story continued along the same lines as ex-Winstrike defeated Sinners 16-6 on Vertigo and closed the series with an impressive 2-0 victory. 

The ex-Winstrike roster is set to face HAVU in the Quarter-finals.

The final Bo3-series in the opening round of the playoffs at the Snow Sweet Snow 3 event saw Dignitas clashing with Tricked. The Scandinavian brawl between the legendary Swedes and the Danish youngsters would determine the last Quarter-finalist of the event. Despite Tricked starting strong on Overpass it was ultimately the Swedes, led by "f0rest" and "friberg", to take home the series 2-0.

Since the beginning of the month, the rosters' future had been in question. After Marcus "maNkz" Kjeldsen and Magnus "Nodios" Olsen returned to their previous team Copenhagen Flames, x6tence was left with three players remaining in Daniel "mertz" Mertz, Jesper "TENZKI" Plougmann, and Jonas "Queenix" Dideriksen. x6tence have just announced the removal of the three Danes, and thereby the Danish roster in total. 

After having given the international stage an attempt, with both an Argentinian and Danish roster, the organization will onwards focus on developing and establishing a roster of local talent. In a statement regarding the news, the organization explained its future plans as well as the reason for removing the final three players: 

“This decision is part of x6tence's objective to reinforce community values and closeness with its fans, as well as with the detection of national talent that our organization, a historical reference in Valve's shooter, has always shown," They carry on by explaining: "which leads us to recover our essence and to bet on the latent talent at the base of our country.”

Hopefully, the Spanish organization x6tence will succeed in its plans regarding developing new local talent, as there are currently few top-tier Spanish Counter-Strike players in the scene.

According to Jarek “Dekay” Lewis and DBLtap.com, will the Spanish CS:GO organization x6tence leave the CS:GO scene from this date on. DBLtap.com state that sources close to the situation have confirmed the farewell, of the otherwise historic and longstanding CS:GO organization.

The current roster of x6ence, consisting Magnus “Nodios” Olsen, Jonas “Queenix” Dideriksen, Daniel “mertz” Mertz, Marcus “maNkz” Kjeldsen, and Jesper “tenzki” Plougmann will become free agents from the 1st of February when the Spanish organization releases all of the players from their contracts.

The Spanish organization who recently sold Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen and Ismail “refrezh” Ali to MAD Lions, have announced the signing of 26-year-old “TENZKI” from Nordavind.

TENZKI is the final piece of the starting lineup after the organization filled up the two spots “HooXi” and “refrezh” left, with the addition of Marcus “maNkz” Kjeldsen and Daniel “mertz” Mertz from Copenhagen Flames. The 26-year-old brings with him a wealth of experience from his former teams like Dignitas, SK Gaming, Rogue, and Imperial.
