For a long time, esports has been considered a new frontier and a place with almost unlimited growth potential. But recently more and more teams and organizations have been struggling to make ends meet.

One of the big financial hurdles has been the wages for the CS:GO players. The best players in the business are rumored to be earning $40,000 USD a month, while the average wage for a Tier-1 CS:GO player is probably a lot less.

According to the former Astralis player, Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen, the wages have begun to plummet by 30-40%.

Bubzkji, now an analyst at Danish TV2, have multiple times highlighted the financial struggles in the world of CS:GO. In his Tweet he also speculates if Valve could do anything to improve the eco-system of CS:GO.

Yesterday’s news linking Sprout’s Victor "Staehr" Staehr to Astralis has sparked speculations about who the 18-year-old Dane is set to replace on the current Astralis roster (if any?).

While the rumors have not yet been confirmed, the former Astralis player and now analyst Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen went on Twitter with his take on the situation.

In a reply to Jacob "Pimp" Winneche, Bubzkji furthermore explained why he thinks the signing of Staehr would indicate, that Astralis are not looking to replace one of the two former academy players currently on the team, Alexander "Altekz" Givskov and Christian Møss "Buzz" Andersen.

The tweet from Bubzkji was quickly quoted by fellow analyst Alex "Mauisnake" Ellenberg citing the tweet as a sign of the public discourse going from “role-agnostic to role-pilled”.

In a follow-up tweet Mauisnake underlined, that the move of replacing blameF with Staehr would only make sense to cut costs.

Raising your ELO on FACEIT can be a tough challenge for many, but with the right mindset and approach, you can climb the ladder.      Get to know all 7 maps: Understanding each map is crucial, as you may not always have the choice to veto. Being able to play all maps is a plus, as being one trick can hinder your progress.

     Understand the importance of utility: Learning how to use utility effectively is underrated. You need to learn meta nades on every map to set your team up for success.

     Play to the team’s strengths: We all have a role preference, but there’s a hierarchy. If you have a stronger player on your team, let them play the role they prefer. You can learn from them.

     Find good teammates: Duo Q’ing with a teammate who has the same role as you isn’t always optimal, especially in FACEIT Premium. Being able to relocate spots is best.

     Entry kills on T side: On FACEIT, people make more mistakes, so take advantage of 5v4/3 situations on T side by playing together with your team.

     Create your identity: Focus on what you’re good at. If you’re good at AWPing, research plays on each side and learn from demos.

     Warm-up routine: Some people need a warm-up to perform optimally before a game. You can play 5-15 mins of ESL HUB before starting.

     Maps: You’ll lose games if you play maps you’re not comfortable with. Play retakes, watch pro games, or play it casually before jumping in.

     Feel the vibe of the team: Do what the team needs, especially on T side. If nobody calls anything, make some calls.

   Pistol rounds: Call a pistol round, it doesn’t need to be perfect. If you win 2/2 pistols in a game, your chances of winning dramatically increase.

   Be proactive: Give information and make moves. Baiting in late-round scenarios won’t win rounds, and KDA doesn’t equal wins.

   Be positive: Try to give information without sounding frustrated and be nice when you win good rounds. A friendly environment can help your team win.

Overall, Bubzkji’s tips offer valuable insights into how to climb ranks and win ELO on FACEIT. By focusing on improving your skills, learning maps, finding good teammates, and maintaining a positive attitude, you can increase your chances of success on FACEIT.

Earlier today HLTV broke the story about Astralis approaching 19-year-old Christian "⁠Buzz⁠" Andersen. The MASONIC player should be the favorite to be the new permanent fifth member of the roster. Buzz is probably an unknown quantity for most people, but according to the former Astralis player Lucas 'Bubzkji' Andersen, it could be a good pick for Astralis.

- A good signing imo, his stats doesn't justify his entire full potential. Role wise he fits perfectly. As he's also an anchor player. He haven't played CS for a longtime (began in 2020). Many in the danish scene knows Buzz is great, he got a professional attitude aswell, Bubzkji writes on his Twitter account.

With the IEM Rio Major 2022 being done it dusted, lots of CS:GO teams are in the process of deciding what their team card of players should look like in the upcoming year.

At NAVI, Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev got acquired back in June as a temporary stand-in for Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov, and has been a part of their roster ever since. The IEM Rio Major 2022 was a rather disappointment for NAVI who had to settle for a 5th-8th place finish after they got eliminated by the home-town favorites from FURIA in the quarter-finals of the event. Here at the IEM Rio Major, sdy finished off the tournament with a 1.01 Rating across a total of 10 maps. The question is now, will sdy stay on the NAVI roster? Or will the organization search for another 5th man?

Well, if you ask the 24-year-old former Astralis player, Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen, he thinks NAVI should take a look at the Entropiq camp, where 22-year-old Igor “Forester” Bezotecheskiy is currently to be found. Bubzkji thinks Forester would be a perfect match for NAVI and deserves the chance as he’s playing a lot of the same positions sdy is.

The Russian talent is currently signed to the Entropiq organization, who last month decided to put all their players up for sale on the transfer list.

Ninjas in Pyjamas have their new signing Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin, who takes the spot of Young Ninjas Love "phzy" Smidebrant, who is not on the bench either. Here Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz is named despite not playing a competitive match since early December last year. The Dane is reported to be playing a lot of games on FACEIT lately, so perhaps a comeback could be on the cards?

Another former Astralis player, Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye, could also make his return to competitive Counter-Strike at the event, with Heroic naming him as their sub.

Astralis have registered Asger "farlig" Jensen as a substitute due to Valve's rules about having at least three players from the last Major in the starting lineup to keep their seeding. Philip "Lucky" Ewald is named instead but will be switched around before the start of the first match at the European RMR.

The talented Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen is no longer on contract with Astralis, the Danish organization confirm on Monday. The 23-year-old leaves Astralis after a rather unsuccessful and 16-month tenure, where his long-standing benching on the lineup has been an overshadowing factor.

Despite representing Astralis for more than 550 days, Bubzkji only ended up playing 86 maps for the team out of 278 in total. 

Kasper Hvidt, Director of Sports at Astralis has stated the following concerning the recent news:

- Despite joining us in a difficult time, being in and out of the team and only rarely playing his favorite position, Lucas has played a significant role in Astralis over the past two years. - He has been loyal and a true professional throughout his time with Astralis and it would have been difficult for us to maintain a solid level during a time with players on leave and the ongoing development of our set-up.

- It never turned out to be what we all hoped it would and I am glad we have found a solution giving Lucas free hands to find the best possible solution for his future. He has always delivered when called upon and we owe Lucas a big thank you and best of luck with his future endeavors. He will always be a highly valued part of our history, Hvidt stated.

In the official statement by Astralis, the Danes announce that Bubzkji has joined the Danish National Broadcast station, TV 2 as an expert commentator. Given the fact that his position here is not set to change short term, though, together we are investigating his options.

Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen was signed in July last year and has had a tumultuous time with the Danes, where he has been in and out of the team.

After failing to defend their Major title following an early exit at the PGL Stockholm Major, Astralis have decided to move forward with 3 new signings and roster changes. 

Following their struggles to find success in Complexity, Benjamin "blameF" Bremer and Krisitian "k0nfig" Wienecke are set to join Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth, Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander and Philip "Lucky" Ewald on the server to play under the Astralis banner. They will be taking the spots left behind by Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen and Emil "Magisk" Reif who will be leaving once their contracts expire in January 2022. 

The organization has also decided to part ways with head coach Danny "zonic" Sørensen. In his place, Astralis have signed Ex North coach, Alexander "ave" Holdt to take over head coaching duties. 

With these departures, the era of one of the most successful CS:GO cores have come to an end. 

This new roster will be on display for the first time at the Royal Arena for the BLAST Premier Fall Final.

Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen’s time with Astralis appears to be nearing its end, as the Danish organization is actively searching to transfer the 23-year-old, and have been doing so since the beginning of October, according to a report by Jaxon.gg.

The 23-year-old Dane has had a quite turbulent time with the Danish organization since he joined them on July 1st 2020, being moved in and out of the starting line-up. Until now, Bubzkji has only played 86 maps under the Astralis banner, compared to Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen who has played 228 maps in the same period of time.

Astralis’ contract extension with Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth on October 18th also resulted in Bubzkji being left out of the active roster for the ongoing PGL Stockholm Major, a decision that left the 23-year-old Dane devastated.

Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander will no longer sit on the bench at Astralis, as he returns to the active line-up for the upcoming PGL Major in Stockholm. The renowned in-game leader replaces Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen, which means the former MAD Lions once again will serve as a reserve, Astralis confirms.

- It is never easy to take a player out of the starting line-up and with Lucas, it can seem a bit unfair as, no matter the circumstances, he has been a true professional and always delivered his best on and off the server. Danny and I have had a good talk with Lucas about the decision. He is disappointed, but he also knows he is a big part of the team, and he will give his best to help out, Kasper Hvidt, Director of Sports at Astralis states and adds:

- I have tremendous respect for a player and person like Lucas, however, we will always set the team, we believe has the best chances to go all the way.

The action of the Quarter-final started on Astralis’ pick of Nuke, where the Danes quickly took the lead on the T side, claiming five out of the first six rounds. Even though things got complicated for REDSTAR and company on the defensive side, the Bulgarians still managed to get six rounds on the scoreboard before the halftime whistle. Astralis were off to a perfect start on the switch, showing why they picked Nuke by grabbing five rounds in a row to extend their lead, 14-6. Fiend suddenly started to gain momentum and strung together four rounds, breaking the Astralis economy. But it was all a little too late as the Danes geared up and went on to close the map 16-10.

Fiend found success early on the T side of Inferno, where they quickly bounced back after losing the pistol to create a 3-1 lead. Astralis picked themselves up and closed the gap to equalized 4-4, and from there on, Astralis took control of the map and went to the break with an 11-4 lead. It seemed like Astralis were going to close out the map, but the Danes side complicated things at the start of the second half. Ultimately, however, Astralis pulled away and closed out the series with a 9-16 victory on Inferno.

The Group A Final from BLAST Premier Fall went all three maps.

It was a reprise from yesterday's Upper Final, as Team Vitality and Astralis went head to head. With both of them qualified for the LAN Final event later this year, it was interesting to see, how the two teams approached the map veto.

Vitality had the choice of playing Inferno or Dust2 on the deciding map and chose the latter. A map that the Frenchmen have had no success with the last five times they have played it in a competitive match. A sign that Vitality was forcing themselves to perform better on the map against a top-tier opponent.

Both teams won their map pick by 16-10, which paved the way for Dust2 to be the decider.

Here newcomer Jayson 'Kyojin' Nguyen Van saw some much-needed success as the young Vitality player was on the top of the scoreboard for the French Bees. Vitality took a 9-6 lead with them into the second half, where Astralis had to do win a CT-half, which had been the big problem for the Danes at this tournament. They fell short in the end, but after six maps of Counter-Strike, the Danes can be satisfied with a good showing, that qualified them for the LAN event on home turf. Team Vitality wins Group A after three straight wins at the tournament.

Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen joined Astralis at the end of Juli in 2020 and it’s fair to say that his journey with the Danish squad hasn’t been smooth at all. In an interview with HLTV.org, the 23-year-old Dane spoke about everything from his struggles to fit into the lineup to the expectations for the BLAST Fall Group Stage, where Astralis are placed in Group A with Team Liquid, Vitality, and Evil Geniuses.

After it was announced that Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander will not be a part of the Astralis roster for the upcoming event as he prepares for the birth of his child, some speculated that Magisk would take over the calling duties as he did it in the past. In the interview, Bubzkji confirmed that Magisk will take over as the main caller in the team, which the 23-year-old is very happy for.

Bubkzji also shared his thoughts and expectations for the upcoming BLAST event, stating that the main focus remains the Major.

Whilst utility is perhaps most commonly used as a way to gain or regain space it can also be fatal if used to perfection. Having a gunfight leaves you vulnerable to get shot yourself, however, with HE grenades and even molotovs you are able to kill your opponent without ever seeing them and allowing them a chance to kill you. Exactly this happened earlier today when Astralis faced Bad News Bears in the ESL Pro League Season 14 event.

Xyp9x's days at Astralis are maybe over sooner than later.

Mirage is probably the most played and known map in Counter-Strike Global Offensive besides Dust 2. The map has been played by many teams over the years and many different strategies have been executed on the map of Mirage. For the second day in a row, Astralis managed to win a clear 2-0 victory at IEM Cologne and is now set up with a group final against Natus Vincere for a direct spot in the semi-finals.

The victory came a few hours after former Astralis player, Nicolai "device" Reedtz had crashed out of the tournament in the group stage with his team Ninjas in Pyjamas after a defeat in the hands of Virtus.pro.

A glorious Astralis day was made even better by beating their Danish rivals from Heroic, which beforehand was considered favorites in the eyes of the bookmakers. But gla1ve and company are back on LAN and are now a serious contender for the title at IEM Cologne. 

The victory was established on Inferno, where Astralis with a very well-structured CT-side silenced their fellow Danes. On Overpass the flow and momentum from Inferno lingered on and for the second day in a row, we saw Andreas 'Xyp9x' Højsleth finding his old self with another good performance only overshadowed by Peter 'dupreeh' Rasmussen, who played an excellent match.

Heroic will drop down to the lower bracket, where they will need two victories to qualify for the playoffs. The first match is against FURIA tomorrow at 13.30 (CEST).
