Lucky’s departure from the Spanish organization makes Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey the last player still contracted to Heretics after all of his former teammates freed from their contracts.

The 22-year old Lucky, had been on Heretic’s roster since the end of 2019 and was a part of the team that qualified for the ESL One Rio EU Minor. Despite the event never taking place due to COVID-19, Heretics went on to impress the scene with a sixth-place run in the first Regional Major Ranking tournament in EU, ESL One: Road to Rio.

With only one player left on contract, makes the future of the Spanish organization’s CS:GO division an uncertain one. According to HLTV.org, there is a possibility they could even take some time away from CS and not field a roster for a period, although no final decision has yet been made.

The French AWP'er in "Maka" had a great 2020, where he showed his skillset and proved himself to be one of the bearing engines in the Heretics roster. Heretics' greatest accomplishment in 2020 was when they managed to take a sixth-place finish at ESL One: Road to Rio Europe. "Maka" finished the tournament with an impressive 1.20 rating. 

Whilst the 20-year-old "Keoz" from Belgium is still an unfamiliar name for many, he has proven himself to be a competent player spending most of his time in the CIS-region. This won't be the first time he is representing LDLC as he played for them in 2019 as a stand-in. 

The newly shaped roster will have their chance to showcase their work and capabilities when participating in ESL's European Championship Winter, which starts on January 18.

Whilst they tried a new recipe for success by hiring in-game leader "DEVIL" and a new coach in "flex0r" the results didn't improve and it seemed destined that the roster was to split up, once again. "DEVIL" described his unhappiness with the situation within the roster in an extensive Twitlonger, stating that he wasn't pleased with his role at the roster: "There are always 80% non-game issues in our French teams and the changes are never the right ones"

Whether or not Heretics will be able to bounce back, and prosper in 2021 is uncertain. We hope to see them competing at the big stages as soon as possible.

Heretics’ AWP’er announced on Twitter today that he is stepping down from the active roster and that the organization has allowed him to explore new options for the new year.

“I have stepped down from Heretics active roster and I’m allowed to explore my options for 2021. I’ve been playing main AWP lately and it’s something that I’m interested in developing if needed. I’m obviously still very motivated and eager to play at the highest level.”

The 22-year-old got signed by Heretics on October 8 back in 2019, stepping into Gaëtan “JiNKZ” Jamin’s place after the organization announced his removal. Heretics are currently ranked at no. #102 on the world ranking.

The Germans from ALTERNATE aTTaX took down Heretics in confident style. A strong performance from the German duo in Fritz “slaxz” Dietrich and Stefan “stFN” Seier helped ALTERNATE aTTaX to take home a 2-0 victory.

K23 was just as dominant in their matchup against Project X. The former Syman Gaming team dismantled a tame Project X side beating them 2-0 through solid showings on both Nuke (16-9) and Overpass (16-10).

Heretics led by former Cloud9 and FaZe player Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey defeated MBAPPEEK 2-1 including a thriller map on inferno. In the other match, the Finns from SJ came back from a 3-16 defeat on Train and took down AVEZ in a reverse sweep.

Maka has been allowed to look for another team for the next year before his contract with Heretics ends at the end of 2020. “As some may know I am still contracted with Team Heretics until the end of 2020 but I have been allowed to explore options for the next year.” The 23-year-old wrote on Twitter.

The Frenchman has been a part of the roster since 2019, when Heretics signed FrencFrogs and decided to turn their main focus on the French scene. Maka has helped the whole team and organization to reach their goals, but also new heights with the team being placed 21 on the rankings following an impressive event at ESL One: Road to Rio.

Only one player is left contracted to Heretics

Lucas “Lucky” Chastang is the latest player to part ways with the Spanish organization after being on Heretics books since the end of 2019.
