Is there still a skill gap between Tier-1 and Tier-2 players in CS:GO?
We have asked three dedicated individuals from within the CS:GO world to give their answers to the above-mentioned question.
As the title explains this article will focus on the distinction between the star players of CS:GO and the lower-tiers of the game.
To set the scene we’ll start off with a quote by Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, arguably one of the best aimers in history, from November this year.
- At the end of the day, Counter-Strike is about aiming. It relies a lot on mechanics, and when young players are grinding the game, they obviously catch up pretty fast. I used to feel before that there was a skill gap between tier-2 and tier-1 players – but not really anymore. It’s more on who’s having the better leader or the most experience.
A perception, which CS:GO expert and caster Mohan "launders" Govindasamy, seemed to agree on when we spoke to him shortly after his Canadian countryman. You can find both interviews with Twistzz and launders at the bottom of the article.
With the knowledge and input of launders and Twistzz, we asked Niels Christian “NaToSaphiX” Sillassen to take a deeper look into the matter and for him to give his take through a demo analysis. Give it a watch down below.
