Astralis survives big scare to stay alive in Shanghai
Casper "cadiaN" Møller and company were only two rounds away from getting sent home from China in today's matchup against B8.
Astralis has managed to keep their Major dreams alive after pulling off a phenomenal comeback against B8 at the European RMR tournament in Shanghai this Friday.
Casper “cadiaN” Møller and his squad were on the brink of elimination, just two rounds away from yet another Major disaster, with the Ukrainians holding an imposing 11-4 lead on Nuke while already up 1-0 in the series.
It's not over until it's over
But just when it seemed over, the Danes found their footing and launched a stunning fightback, turning the map around to win 13-11, forcing a deciding map.
And from there, Astralis didn’t look back.
On the final map, set in the dense jungle of Ancient, Astralis raced to a commanding 11-4 lead. However, the tides nearly turned as B8 mounted a strong comeback, narrowing the score to 11-9 and threatening to flip the script on the Danes.
In the end, though, Astralis drew on their big experience and composure, regaining control to secure the map and clinch the series victory.
While Astralis survives another day in the Swiss stage of Europe RMR B, B8’s run ends here, as they bow out of the Major qualifier.
Tomorrow, the Danes will face another 1-2 team as they look to inch closer to a Major spot.
