Third place in Bucharest came with something bigger for MOUZ: the number one spot in the VRS, two days before the Major invitations.
MOUZ finished third at PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 after a 2-0 win over Team Vitality on Saturday morning, 13-7 on their own Nuke pick and 13-7 on Vitality’s Inferno. The result keeps them first in the Valve Regional Standings, and the gap to Vitality grows from two points to 40.
The bronze match doubled as a straight fight for the top of the VRS. MOUZ came in on 1,949 points and Vitality on 1,947, and on HLTV’s VRS calculator the win adds seven points for MOUZ while Vitality lose 31. A Vitality win would have put them back on top. Instead MOUZ hold the spot with 1,956 points as Valve’s 2 November cut-off for the Singapore Major invitations approaches. Both teams were always going to be invited; the question was who would sit first.

A ranking that meant more to one side
Before the match, the analysts on PGL’s desk agreed that MOUZ had more to play for. Vitality were without apEX, who is at home on paternity leave, and had lost 2-0 to Nemiga in Friday’s semi-final. MOUZ, a rebuilt side with PR and xelex brought in from the academy, had the chance to call themselves the best team in the world on Valve’s list. For Vitality, Pimp said, the top spot “doesn’t really mean anything”.
There was also a score to settle. Vitality beat MOUZ 3-0 in the ESL Pro League Season 24 final on 11 October, and MOUZ had won only three of their last ten maps against them before today.
Nuke from the first round
MOUZ removed Anubis and picked Nuke, a map Vitality had not played in Bucharest and one that is hard to play with a stand-in in the side. It showed straight away. MOUZ won a flawless pistol round on the T side, Spinx went hunting in the early rounds with more than 200 ADR, and MOUZ led 7-5 at the half, a strong T-side score on a map built for defenders. After the switch Vitality won just two more rounds.
PR was the player of the map for the analysts, getting better as Nuke went on. torzsi was quiet, but the T side of Nuke gives an AWPer little to work with.
xelex and torzsi on Inferno
Vitality’s own pick was meant to bring them back into the series. It did the opposite. MOUZ won the pistol round, took five in a row in the middle of the half and went in 8-4 up.
The round of the match came from torzsi, who had been described on the desk as having a “crisis” against Vitality. Holding on his own, he picked off four players one by one with well-timed peeks and came close to an ace. Adrian “xelex” Vincze did the rest. The Hungarian finished the series 38-24 with 102.8 ADR, the best numbers on the server.
Vitality found some life after the switch, mostly through jL and flameZ working together on B, but three rounds were all they got. MOUZ reached map and match point at 12-7 and closed it a round later.
ZywOo at the bottom
The scoreboard makes hard reading for Vitality. ZywOo finished last on the server at 17-29 with 52.1 ADR, far from the 87.6 ADR he has averaged over the past three months and from his 31-29 against Nemiga. mezii, who has called since apEX left, went 20-30, and ropz was their only player with a positive K-D at 31-27.
jL ended 21-31. The Lithuanian, who has no contract for 2027, said earlier in the event that he might just call it quits if he does not find a team he believes in after Singapore. Today may have been one of his last matches in Vitality colours before apEX returns.
Bronze money and the Beijing trip
Third place is worth $137,500 to MOUZ including the club share, $50,000 more than Vitality take home for fourth. MOUZ, who lost 2-1 to FURIA in their semi-final, move on to IEM Beijing next.
The trophy is still to be decided. Nemiga and FURIA meet in the best-of-five grand final at , and we follow it all on our PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 page.
