VALORANT S26A3 Map Rotation: Ascent Returns and Bind Bows Out

The competitive landscape of VALORANT is shifting once again. As we approach Season 2026 Act 3 (S26A3), Riot Games is shaking up the tactical foundation of the game with a major map rotation update.

According to recent verified leaks and community updates (sourced from VALORANT creator PexaExtra), we finally have confirmation on exactly which maps are rotating in and out of the active competitive pool.

If you have been struggling on the dusty teleporters of Morocco, you can breathe a sigh of relief. But if you haven’t practiced your mid-control crossfires lately, it’s time to hit the server.

The Return of the King: Ascent is Back

The biggest news of S26A3 is the triumphant return of Ascent.

Long considered by many professional players and high-Elo grinders to be the most fundamentally sound map in VALORANT, Ascent’s return brings a heavy emphasis back to raw aim and default-heavy strategies. Taking control of Mid Courtyard and Mid Link will once again be the defining factor in whether your team wins or loses the half.

Expect to see a massive resurgence of the classic Sova/Omen/Killjoy compositions that have dominated this map since the game’s earliest days.

Goodbye to Bind (For Now)

To make room for Ascent, the legendary two-site, zero-mid map Bind is officially rotating out of the competitive and Premier queues.

While Bind has received its fair share of layout tweaks and teleporter adjustments over the years to balance out the attacker/defender dynamics, it is going back into the vault for the foreseeable future. This means you will have to find somewhere else to execute your chaotic teleport-fakes and Judge-camping strategies.

The Complete S26A3 Competitive Map Pool

With the swapping of Bind for Ascent, the official 7-map rotation for the upcoming Act 3 competitive queue has been solidified. Here is the exact list of maps you will be grinding your RR on:

  • Ascent (Returning)
  • Breeze
  • Fracture
  • Haven
  • Lotus
  • Pearl
  • Split

Note: While Bind is leaving the competitive map pool, it will still be fully available to play in custom games and standard unrated/casual modes.
