If you could remove one map from the competitive pool – which one and why?

The account VALORANTLeaksEN recently asked players: “If you were to remove one map from the current Competitive map pool, which one would it be?” — sparking hundreds of replies from the community. X (formerly Twitter)

Here are the top three maps most often mentioned for removal, based on comment volume and sentiment:

1. Abyss

Abyss was the most cited map to remove. Many players argued that its layout favors attackers too heavily or creates inconsistent post-plant scenarios. One commenter wrote:

“Abyss is just rinse-and-repeat for attackers. defenders rarely have a proper hold.”

2. Lotus

Lotus received the second-most mentions. Complaints focused on its complexity and long rotations. Some players feel its size makes it difficult for team fights to stay engaging:

“Lotus is huge and slow. matches drag because it takes forever to fight.”

3. Corrode

Corrode came in third. The criticisms here centered on visibility and wall-bang potential, with players saying that certain wall angles break the flow of traditional engagements:

“Corrode feels like you’re fighting the walls more than players.”

What does this mean?

This poll highlights community concerns around map design in competitive Valorant. Players want maps where both sides have meaningful opportunities, where fights are engaging and rotations feel fair. The maps listed above may be tipping that balance.

As Riot continues to update the map pool and balance gameplay, this feedback offers valuable insight into which maps may need re-work or temporary retirement.

How we scored the replies

We tallied mentions for each map in the replies and grouped repeated arguments into themes. The ranking reflects frequency of mentions and the strength of sentiment in those replies.

Abyss feedback focuses on post plant positioning and retake viability
Lotus feedback focuses on rotation length and three site coordination
Corrode feedback focuses on wallbang density and sightline clarity

If you had to pick one map to remove right now, according to the community, it would most likely be Abyss, followed by Lotus and Corrode. Whether these maps will see changes or removal remains to be seen – but the feedback is clear.
