On the 28th of September, the former North and OpTic in-game leader Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen announced the creation of South. A new Danish roster filled with young talents and experienced players, which MSL should lead in-game. However, after less than three weeks of the announcement, the team has disbanded.

South consisted of the former North trio MSL, Phillip “aizy” Aistrup, and Jakob “JUGi” Hansen, where the youngster Frederik “Fessor” Sørensen and Jesper “TENZKI” Plougman was the last two pieces on the roster. The new team didn’t really manage to find a footing together, and MSL and co. lost against lower-ranked teams like AaB and AVE.

The CS:GO scene has just got a completely new team, with the rise of a fully Danish roster called South. The team is led by Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen, who revealed the news about his news team in July this year. However, today the captain has unveiled the roster, headlined by renowned players like Philip "aizy" Aistrup Larsen and Jakob "JUGi" Hansen.

The former North trio will be joined by the youngster Frederik “Fessor” Sørensen and the former Nordavind player Jesper "tenzki" Plougmann Mikalski. The team will for now play without an organization, as they wish to find a potential org to represent. 

South, the antonym of North, will get their debut this Wednesday at the qualifier for Funspark ULTI Regional Series.

Jakob “JUGi” Hansen will once again be Complexity’s stand-in, but this time in cs_summit 7 which will be held from January 25-31. JUGi and company will battle it out in Group A against fnatic, Dignitas, and OG, with their opening match of the GSL stage being against the Swedish-side on Monday at 14:00 (CET). 

The 23-year-old Dane stepped in for the European-American mixture team at the BLAST Premier Global Final event, which saw Complexity eliminated in the double-elimination bracket following losses to NAVI and Vitality.

It has almost become a custom for Complexity, to attend huge and prestigious event featuring a stand-in player. Inside the last 4 months, the Juggernauts has fielded the likes of Niels Christian “NaToSaphiX” Sillassen, Otto “ottoNd” Sihvo and also their own coach Jamie "keita" Hall as temporary players, owing to the departure of Owen “oBo” Schlatter and Valentin “poizon” Vasilev being on a sick-leave. The latest addition being the Danish AWPer Jacob "JUGi" Hansen who will stand-in at the $ Million event of BLAST Premier Global Final.

The CS:GO expert Chad “SPUNJ” Burchill believes that Complexity has to make actions regarding this matter, to prevent a potential destruction of the roster itself. SPUNJ touches on the idea of Complexity replacing the otherwise promising poizon, if the young AWPer won’t be ready for IEM Katowice next month.

“This sounds heartless but if poizon isn't able to play Katowice I think complexity need to find a full-time replacement before having to play event after event with a stand-in. The destruction of morale in the camp having to prepare with someone different each event must suck.”

It just feels like wasted effort. You are in these tournaments, you want to compete at 100% and instead every time you are hamstrung. Considering the type of guy blame is and what Jason Lake set out to achieve, the situation as it stands would be eating the team from the inside.”

In the start of December, Complexity’s star AWPer Valentin “poizon” Vasilev was hospitalised for an emergency operation, which has made him unable to play CS:GO  for an uncertain amount of time. The Bulgarian international has not been ready to attend the first event of 2021, which has meant that Complexity has decided to bring in the former Astralis player Jacob “JUGi” Hansen as a stand-in.

A move that the two renowned CS:GO experts Richard Lewis and Chad “SPUNJ” Burchill analyse in a vodcast for DEXERTO. Lewis starts off by saying that he sees the move like a sign of failure, and how he questions JUGi’s motivation and dedication owing to rumours of him switching to Valorant.  

“He’s possibly the worst AWPing option they could have conceivable got. … I hear that he’s not even playing CS:GO these days due to looking to transition into Valorant. You can’t just write off a $1 Million tournament, but it does feel with this pick-up, that’s what Complexity is doing”

SPUNJ isn't thrilled by the move from Complexity

Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill continues by saying Complexity should have brought in a completely different type of player, and an individual who was more dedicated.

“Just have a rabid dog that you can let out of its leash, and say; go kill, alongside k0nfig. You may as well just have thrown somebody as smooya (Owen “smooya” Butterfield) at the problem. At least we know that guy has grinded the hours and stuff.”

Complexity has just announced that former Astralis player Jakob "JUGi" Hansen will be stepping in as a stand-in for the roster in the upcoming BLAST Premier Global Finals. 

Complexity is still missing Valentin "poizon" Vasilev after he underwent emergency surgery in December 2020 but is expected to rejoin his team-members in the early stages of 2021. The nature of the emergency surgery was kept private when Complexity Gaming CEO Jason Lake stated the following in a tweet from December 9, 2020: 

It will be interesting to see how "JUGi" performs in the upcoming BLAST tournament as the event is pack-filled with top-tier teams, including his former team Astralis. "JUGi" haven't played for a team since parting ways with Astralis. Furthermore, he has been trialed for Team Liquid's Valaront roster, so whether or not his Counter-Strike abilities remain just as sharp as previously will be exciting to witness. 

Complexity and "JUGi" face one of the biggest Counter-Strike giants, currently, in their opening match against Vitality. The match is set to begin at 13:30 (CET) on January 20th.

According to multiple sources, Team Liquid has trialed Jakob "JUGi" Hansen in their search for a new member of their Valorant roster. The young Dane has not competed professionally in Counter-Strike since last June, after parting ways with Astralis. After saying his goodbyes with his fellow Danish teammates at Astralis, "JUGi" announced that he was looking for new challenges elsewhere, apparently also within the Valorant scene. 

It seems that "JUGi" might have found a team to compete with once again, however, not in the Counter-Strike scene that he grew up in, but instead playing Valorant. 

If he joins Team Liquid, he will possibly be playing alongside another former top-tier Counter-Strike player in Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom who retired from Counter-Strike back in September 2019.
