ProUnite Esports AS, the organization behind the Norwegian Counter-Strike team Apeks have raised no more than 32 million NOK, equivalent to +$3.5 million dollars in a "private placement to existing owners". With the capital injection, the org wishes to bring its's CS:GO team to the very top of the game and to make its brand more internationally.

- We are seeing an exciting market for e-sports in Norway and internationally, and are therefore working to strengthen the company financially in order to realise our vision of becoming an internationally recognised e-sports club.

We see it as a natural part of our efforts that we should have the best players at all times, and we might look into the possibility of raising additional capital at some point in the future, including from external investors, CEO of ProUnite Esport AS, Brit Denise Anfinnsen states.

The strengthening of their financial base comes with great timing as Apeks’ CS:GO division right now is in a major rebuilding phase. Last week the organization decided to cut their roster down to only one man, leaving Asger “AcilioN” Larsen all alone.

The decision means that the quartet of Sander "⁠Grusarn⁠" Iversen, Dennis "⁠dennis⁠" Edman, Fredrik "⁠FREDDyFROG⁠" Gustafsson, and Joakim "⁠Relaxa⁠" Gustafsson all will leave the team at the end of the year.

- The main team in Counter-Strike is also being restructured now – and the goal here is of course to be on the biggest stages in all our games, says Head of Esports, Anders Kjær.

(…) we will always work hard to achieve our goals. We will help professionalise e-sports in Norway, and to this end, we’ll build the club by drawing on the good structure found in Norwegian sports. In the last couple of years, Apeks has performed well in both Norwegian and foreign tournaments, Kjær concludes.

Apeks has signed a fully Swedish trio including two Galaxy Racers players, the Norwegian organization confirms in an official statement. It’s the two twin brothers Fredrik “FREDDyFROG” Gustafsson and

Joakim “Relaxa” Gustafsson who´s switching from Swedish to Norwegian Counter-Strike. The youngster Rasmus “kreaz” Johansson concludes the trio, coming from a trial period at North.

“It is with excitement that we announce the roster we have put together for the up and coming season. With a Swedish core, it’s a huge change for us, but in this business we must be both willing and able to change at all times. This roster is the best we have had in Apeks, and with several tournaments coming up we have no time to lose.”

The former 100 Thieves star Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad leaves Apeks after a very short spell

Apeks coach Pål «Polly» Kammen continues by saying that the trio will boost the team for their upcoming campaigns at ESEA Premier and Snow Sweet Snow. 

“We are really happy to have signed «Relaxa», «FREDDyFROG» and «kreaz» to our team. They will bring alot of experience and skill to our line-up and give us alot of new ideas which will help us get to the level we want. Our focus now will be on doing well in ESEA Premier and Snow Sweet Snow, while we continue to climb the HLTV rankings.”
