YNk on G2’s role clashes: They should be worried
As G2 gears up for the new season with a revamped roster, we asked Janko “YNk” Paunović to evaluate the now Snax-led squad.
Last week, G2 stunned the Counter-Strike world by signing Polish veteran Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski as their new in-game leader.
The former Major winner joins G2 alongside young rifler Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa, replacing Nemanja “nexa” Isakovic and Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen.
We asked renowned expert and analyst Janko “YNk” Paunović for his take on the changes. And to say the least, YNk is not thrilled about the signing of Snax, with his initial reaction being:
“Meh,” YNk stated to Pley.gg.
YNk is particularly worried about the roles on the new G2 lineup.
- I don't understand why they got malbsMd if they were getting Snax. They should've just gotten an anchor to replace nexa. malbsMd is good but no one knows how he'll perform in a different role. They should be worried looking at the roles [clashes] in the team, we saw what happened with Astralis with blameF.
Could you understand if G2 fans or people in the community would feel a bit disappointed or confused about this transfer?
- Absolutely, because from the outside it doesn't seem like the right fit.
Finally, we asked YNk to predict where this new G2 roster might stand in the current Counter-Strike landscape.
- It's impossible to predict. If malbsMd and Snax end up playing better than nexa and HooXi in their roles they could rise to #1. If they flop they will be out of the top 5, YNk concludes.
Role clashes
Regarding the role clashes on the new G2 lineup, HLTV’s stats expert Harry “ner0” Richards pointed out that bringing in malbsMd and Snax has caused a role clash on every single map.
