Watch Shroud's opinion on Counter-Strike 2
A new game is soon to come after 11 years with CS:GO.
Exciting news for gamers worldwide as Valve has announced the release of a new installment in the Counter-Strike series after of 11 years. Counter-Strike 2 promises to be the largest technical advancement in the history of the game and offers many new features and updates that will keep players hyped and satisfied.
Sub-tick updates are the heart of Counter-Strike 2. Previously, the server only evaluated the world in discrete time intervals (called ticks). Thanks to Counter-Strike 2’s sub-tick update architecture, servers know the exact instant that motion starts, a shot is fired, or a ‘nade is thrown.
As a result, regardless of tick rate, your moving and shooting will be equally responsive and your grenades will always land the same way.
- They are still trying to save money, but I respect that they are doing something. This could make the game worse overall, instead of just making it worse for matchmaking. We currently have a matchmaking sub-tick, this could ruin everything but I highly doubt that.
Maps are a fundamental pillar of Counter-Strike. Following the release of the new game, maps are getting a new look, but fear not, your game sense and know-how on the server are still to be found. The new features on all the maps are lighting and character which will make the game more vivid and smooth looking. Updates will also bring in realistic materials and reflexing.
- Cleaner, bright, better. It's definitely brighter, every single map is much brighter which is good because CS:GO is very dark. Think about how many players that are using digital vibrance on maks. Seems to me like they are trying to balance that a bit, which is good.
Shroud believes that all these new updates and features will rise the level of the game to its full potential, with the new smoke features being his favorite part.
