CS:GO has reached a new player peak in the last 2 years. But in its history, there have been plenty of historic moments.
The very first Major for CS:GO was hosted in 2013. Launched with the backing of the developers from Valve, the CS:GO Majors became the most important tournament in the Counter-Strike scene. Since 2013, the Majors have become a tremendous affair, and the circuit has expanded dramatically ever since. When the first Major was hosted, it had a prize pool of $250.000 and only six teams were invited to participate. But now, the Majors are offering more than $1.000.000 in the prize pool while featuring twenty-fours teams.
