ViCi won the grand final of IEM Beijing Asia 3-0 over their long-standing rivals from TYLOO on Train (16-12) and Inferno (16-12) while also having a one map advantage due to coming from the upper bracket.

TYLOO didn’t get the revenge they were coming for as ViCi were good value for both wins dominating down the stretch. ZhiHong “aumaN” Liu topped the scoreboards on the server with a 1.30 rating, 87.2 ADR, and a 46-32 score.

It's been a year and some time since we last had a LAN event in Counter-Strike. The BLAST Premier Spring Finals was the last tournament before the world went into a lockdown in 2020.

Back then it was Complexity, who could celebrate a tournament victory. 

But since then, things have not evolved as "The Juggernaut" would have wanted. A lack of results have put the roster under scrutiny before the start of IEM Cologne.

- I think that this tournament is a big telling point for our team. I am not saying, that we need to win the tournament, but we need to reach the Quarter-Finals or playoffs. If we go out in the groups or play-in, that would be a bad thing for us. We have had this roster for some time now, and we need to be more consistent, Will "RUSH" Wierzba explains in a press conference.

His teammate Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke is on the same page, and reflects on the frustrations, that the team has endured throuhout the year.

- I think we are in a bad state because we have not achieved anything we wanted, and we have not done any damage as a team for an entire year now. I think we been really unlucky. We lost so many close games, and have not gotten the points we needed, so we have almost only went down on the rankings. But i still believe in this team, and I believe that we can win this tournament.

Complexity will need to qualify for the main tournament via the Play-in. Here they are paired with the Chinesee team ViCi gaming. A match that k0nfig and his teammates will try not to underestimate, despite them being huge favorites beforehand.

- A best of 1 is always hard. We could easily lose that match, even though we should win it. We are in a bad state right now, but hopefully we can win, the Dane says.

After a lackluster 2021, the American-basedCom team Complexity has finally won a tournament.

The international roster took home $40.000 and a spot at LAN Sweet LAN 2022 with their Grand Final win at Spring Sweet Spring 3 against Entropiq.

Once again it was the two Danes of Complexity who stole the show. On Overpass it was Kristian 'k0nfig' Wienecke who was a menace. With a 29-13 K-D score k0nfig played a key part in securing Entropiq's map pick.

blameF followed through on Mirage, where he was the top-fragger. Complexity won the match 2-0. It was their first tournament win since the BLAST Spring Finals back in April 2020.

Complexity will play ViCi in their next match at the IEM Cologne Play-in.

Entropiq

The twenty-six-year-old ViCi Gaming player has been fantastic in his career, where he has delivered some outrageous numbers with an all-time rating of 1.20!

We have to remember the opponent his team is playing against, they are not always on the highest level, but they have played against some great teams!

Kaze has played 22 maps against top 10 teams, where he has delivered a rating of 1.08!

The AWPer has been at ViCi Gaming since September 2018, since joining from Flash Gaming, and with plays like in the video, he would be a fantastic player to watch!

TYLOO has the opportunity to get their revenge against ViCi today after the last match-up between the two teams where ViCi won 2-0 in the upper bracket final, which secured them a 1-0 map advantage in the grand final due to coming for the upper bracket.

ViCi ran away with their opponent’s map pick of Mirage with a 16-5 scoreline, even though Invictus started quite well but couldn’t handle ViCi’s class as they cruised past. The strong ViCi team also took their own map pick of Train (16-11) where Invictus managed to get a few more rounds before the favorites wrapped up the series 2-0.

ZhiHong “aumaN” Liu shined the scoreboard with the best overall score on the server, resulting in a 1.58 rating, 100.5 ADR, and a K-D ratio of 49-23.

We’ll see ViCi back in action next week for the age-old rivalry with TYLOO in the Upper final. Invictus will continue their journey in the lower bracket, where they take on D13.

ViCi has won 4 out of 5 games, while Invictus only has 2 out of 5. Will ViCi continue their good run with a victory in the upper bracket semi-final of IEM Beijing Asia, or will Invictus turn the tables for their poor run and surprise the favorites? 

ViCi are the Asia region champions of IEM Beijing!

TYLOO didn’t manage to pull off a reverse sweep to bring the title home in the bo5 grand final.
