skullz reflects on the struggles in Liquid
The star-studded roster lasted only half a year before splitting up. Felipe "skullz" Medeiros shares his experience in Liquid, stating that team "did not learn to adapt to each other."
It’s fair to say that the otherwise ambitious Liquid project, which included the signings of cadiaN, Twistzz, skullz and zews as the head coach, ended up being a major disappointment for the iconic organization.
Seven months later, only one of those four individuals remains on the active roster.
In an interview with HLTV, Felipe "skullz" Medeiros touches on his brief tenure in Liquid, where he explains his reasons why it didn’t work out.
- A lot happened there. We went through a lot. Since the beginning, we didn't have enough [ranking] points to get into tournaments, so we had to play qualifiers back in LA. So that really messed up our schedule for practice in Europe. And overall, I guess we didn't learn to adapt to each other and play for each other. I think that cost us a lot of time, and we never got into the next stage, skullz said to HLTV.
When the HLTV reporter asked skullz how he would describe his time in Liquid, the newly-revealed FURIA rifler answered the following:
- I look at that as an experience, of course. I learned a lot during my period there. And this offer that I got from FURIA was something that I wanted for my career. Because I feel that here I have the freedom to grow a lot more. It was a very happy decision for me, for sure.
