Confirmed: FURIA reveal skullz transfer and new coaching staff
The strong rifler joins the Brazilian organization after a lacklustre tenure at Liquid.
Felipe “skullz” Medeiros to FURIA.
One of the worst-kept secrets in Counter-Strike has become official this Monday, with the Brazilian organization confirming the acquisition of the 22-year-old rifler from Liquid.
The transfer, reported by multiple media outlets for weeks, marks the conclusion of FURIA’s roster overhaul following the removal of their long-time captain Andrei “arT” Piovezan and Kayke “kye” Bertolucci.-
- skullz is a guy we have wanted for a while. He plays a crucial in-game role that's very important and hard to find, which is the anchor, Head of Esports at FURIA, Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira says about the new addition to the Black Panthers.
New coaching staff
Another big question mark around FURIA has also been answered this Tuesday evening, with the Brazilian organization revealing their new coaching staff for the upcoming season.
Sid "sidde" Macedo will be the man in charge of the team, as he’s being promoted after serving as the assistant coach since January last year. To assist the 27-year-old head coach, FURIA has brought in Hunter "Lucid" Tucker and Viacheslav "innersh1ne" Britvin, rounding off their new coaching staff.
- All the players respect him [sidde], and I have great confidence that he will do an excellent job, guerri added in the press release.
In the press release, FURIA also announced multiple contract renewals. You can read more about that in our article below.
skullz was part of Liquid's significant roster changes back in December last year, joining the North American squad alongside his countryman and head coach Wilton “zews” Prado, Casper “cadiaN” Møller, and Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken. After a tough 2024 season, Twistzz remains the sole survivor of that quadruple signing, now joined by NAF and YEKINDAR.
On FURIA, skullz returns to a full Brazilian lineup, teaming up with FalleN, yuurih, KSCERATO, and chelo. The new FURIA squad will debut at the upcoming Esports World Cup next week, where the Black Panthers are set to compete against other top-tier teams for the $400,000 first prize.
