Russian youngster demolishes Sprout at DreamHack Open January
Spirit has just qualified for the semi-finals at the European event of DreamHack Open January, after beating Sprout 2-1.
The Russians began the match stealing Sprout’s map pick of Nuke, through a dominant showing by the Russian youngsters in Nikolay 'mir' Bityukov and Abdul 'degster' Gasanov. The duo led their team towards a strong 16-12 victory, by averaging a 1.69 and 1.26 Rating and 54 kills in total.
On Train, degster continued his dominance and presented a stellar 45 kills, in a close double OT-thriller. However, the Russian youngster fought in vain, with the German sealing the win, even though degster ripped them apart nearly every round.
After the devastating OT-defeat, Spirit came back showing great character by securing the series on Dust 2. Once again it was degster who topped the rankings for Spirit and the powerful AWPer sealed the win with a confident 16-12 win.
