ohnePixel says it feels “weird” playing RMR in hotel rooms
The man behind DRILLAS has spoken about the Major qualifier not being in a studio environment.
The first of three RMR tournaments has started this week, marking a crucial opportunity for teams hoping to qualify for the Shanghai Major. With a limited number of spots available, the stakes couldn’t be higher for teams aiming to break through to this prestigious event.
However, the settings for this RMR have raised some eyebrows in the community, with the matches being played in individual hotel rooms rather than a studio setting as in previous RMRs.
A change that undoubtedly impacts the competitive atmosphere making it a different environment.
Something, DRILLAS’ kingpin and current head coach, ohnePixel, also has touched on in an interview.
- I stand behind the players and it’s Counter-Strike, the game that I know. But it doesn’t feel like it’s about that much [so much on the line]. It’s in a hotel room and there’s a toilet with a bathtub in the corner. It’s weird. I swear to God it doesn’t feel like it’s about that much, ohnePixel said in an interview with DonaCS.
