No mantuu for BIG at IEM Cologne
The former OG AWPer will not be available for tabseN and company in Cologne.
When the Germans from BIG are set to compete at IEM Cologne Play-in later this month it will be without their new signing Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski.
Instead, BIG’s academy player Efekan "S3NSEY" Topaloglu will take on the AWP duties in the prestigious tournament, the organization revealed on Twitter Tuesday evening.
S3NSEY will be accompanied by Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz, Karim "Krimbo" Moussa Elias "s1n" Stein, David "prosus" Hesse.
Why is mantuu not playing?
The reason for the switch up is due to BIG being obligated to play with at least three players from their academy, as it was BIG Academy that qualified for the Cologne-based event – something the Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz and the main team not managed to do.
With BIG’s recent academy graduates prosus and s1n being a part of the lineup, that won ESL Meisterschaft Spring Finals, it means BIG meet the criteria of fielding 3/5 players from the qualifying event.
tabseN and his young roster will kick off their IEM Cologne Play-in campaign on the 26th of July. Here they are joined by top-tier opposioton in the likes of Liquid, Astralis, FURIA and MOUZ.
BIG is fielding the following lineup at IEM Cologne:
Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz
Karim "Krimbo" Moussa Germany
Elias "s1n" Stein
David "prosus" Hesse
Efekan "S3NSEY" Topaloglu
Despite not going with the rest of the roster for IEM Cologne, mantuu is set to make his debut for BIG at BLAST Premier Fall Groups this week.
