ESL annouced today, that the Organization have banned the 17-year-old Tyson “asap” Paterson from the Australian team Rooster.

The ban has been issued after the youngster admitted, that he had had sent in a false ID to try and get around the 18+ restriction, that were present at an event.

In November, ESL Australia held a 2-versus-2 tournament with an 18+ age restriction, Tyson “asap” Paterson signed up to compete, but due to previously having competed in tournaments where his age was submitted as 17, a age-verification process was initiated. In this process a date-of-birth was requested and a false date-of-birth was provided.

Prior to the start of DreamHack Masters Winter, it was on December 1 announced that Rooster had been replaced by Chiefs in the Oceania portion of the tournament. This was based on the recommendation from ESIC as an investigation was active for one of the players, which meant that the team lost a third member from the qualifying lineup and thus was no longer eligible for the spot.

Rooster played their last match on the 29th of October losing to AVANT.

Charlie “zeph” Dodd and company have received a last-minute invitation after placing second in the closed qualifier and the decision of the replacement comes amid an “ongoing investigation” by the Esports Integrity Commission surrounding one of the players on the Australian team, who back in October saw two other teammates banned for “betting-related offenses”.

Corey “nettik” Browne and Akram “ADK” Smida were among the seven MDL Australia players who received a 12-month ban by the esports watchdog for placing bets on the ESEA league and other CS:GO matches.

DreamHack decided to suspend the player who currently is under investigation on recommendation from ESIC. The player's name has not yet been revealed, leaving Rooster without the core of the roster that had qualified for the tournament by beating Chiefs in the final.

Chiefs will face off against Renegades in their opening match on Tuesday at 07:30 (CEST). The DH Masters Winter Oceania will run from December 1-6 and will feature only four teams, who will compete in a double-elimination bracket for a share of the $15.000 prize pool.

The top Australian team continues to dominate the Oceania region with another trophy after claiming the IEM Beijing Oceania title without losing a map and making their eight consecutive top finish.

Renegades won the grand final 3-0 on Dust2 (19-15) and Inferno (16-14) with a one-map advantage against ORDER, who have been runners-up at the last three events in the region. The two maps played were tight affairs as they took ORDER’s map pick on Dust 2 in overtime and then closing the series in a 30-round Inferno.

Joshua “INS” Potter finished the game as the top player with a 1.25 rating, 91.0 ADR, and a 54-45 score overall.

Renegades and ORDER will compete at the upcoming DreamHack Masters Winter, where they will be joined by AVANT and the Rooster squad that won the closed qualifier.
