Earlier this week, G2 announced the benching of their in-game leader and captain Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen after two years of service. To replace him, G2 picked up Polish legend Janusz "⁠Snax⁠" Pogorzelski, who now takes on the IGL reins.

But what now for HooXi? Where will he land in the CS landscape?

This question was debated in the recent [link:{"url":"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTQNhdX4JPM","isNewTab":true,"text":"episode "}]of "Talking Counter," featuring experts and analysts Janko "YNk" Paunović, Jason "moses" O'Toole, and Chad “SPUNJ” Burchill.

SPUNJ started off by pointing to some potential destinations for HooXi.

- Fnatic and NIP are options in the future, I would imagine. Not right now, but in the future, they could be an option. Like ENCE as well, if it doesn’t work out with gla1ve. Those types of teams, and I think GamerLegion falls in that category, SPUNJ said.

- If I’m HooXi, I probably have a list of two or three teams in my head that I would go to or explore, and if I don’t get any of those, I’m probably going to take like two or three months off.

- I think HooXi is in a bit of a tough spot going forward. I don’t think he will have anything until after the Shanghai Major, or maybe just before the Major when teams don’t make it or if roster changes are happening there.

Liquid is currently missing an IGL following the removal of Casper “cadiaN” Møller. While the Talking Counter trio doesn’t see a transfer to Liquid as a realistic option for HooXi right now, fellow expert Jacob “Pimp” Winneche sees it as being "interesting" for both HooXi and the North Americans. 

- Liquid could be an interesting destination for both parties. They have the firepower, they need the structure. HooXi did show both in Flames and G2 that star players can thrive next to him. In particular, guys like Twistzz and YEKINDAR should benefit from his presence. 

- However, if Liquid goes another route, I’m having a hard time seeing where HooXi lands for now. It won’t be in a top 10 team, I can’t imagine that, Pimp stated in a [link:{"url":"https://x.com/PimpCS2/status/1808442800364511268","isNewTab":true,"text":"post "}]on X.
