k0nfig and Astralis part ways due to personal circumstances
The former Complexity rifler is done at Astralis following heavy rumors about ankle injury.
Astralis and Kristian “k0nfig” Wiencke have agreed to terminate the Danish rifler’s contract due to personal circumstances, the Danish organizations have announced this Monday. The shocking news comes two weeks after a report hit the news, stating that Astralis was set to release k0nfig because he reportedly was involved in a fist-fight in Malta during ESL Pro League, which k0nfig today confirms in a Twitlonger.
Kasper Hvidt, Director of Sports at Astralis has issued the following statement on today's news:
- Kristian's "k0nfig" Wienecke is going through a tough time with issues he does not want to discuss publicly; we fully respect that. It has been affecting his ability to contribute to the team and we have had ongoing and constructive talks with Kristian, who needs time to focus on his private life.
k0nfig adds to the story here:
- I am insanely sad about my situation and how it affects everybody in Astralis. That goes for the team and the people in the office, as I have nothing but the best to say about everyone here, and I had hoped to be part of this organization for many years. The thing is, though, that I am at a place in my life where I need to focus on myself, not just physically, so I will be taking a break for a while.
