Falcons reportedly set to miss out on m0NESY and MOUZ star
What now Falcons?
Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov is unlikely to join Nikola “NiKo” Kovac when the Bosnian rifler makes his move to Falcons this off-season.
According to a report by HLTV and neL, m0NESY is set to stay in G2 for at least until the second half of 2025, despite “strong interest” from Falcons.
However, the Russian superstar reportedly considered an offer from Falcons, HLTV reports.
Another bust for Falcons
Failing to secure m0NESY isn’t the only setback for head coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen and the Falcons.
In the latest episode of HLTV Confirmed, HLTV’s Editor-in-Chief Milan "Striker" Švejda revealed that the team is also likely to miss out on Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo from MOUZ – a player that the Saudi team seemingly was frontrunners to sign going into 2025.
But that is also unlikely to happen, according to Striker.
- It seems like the MOUZ roster will stay the same for 2025, even though we all were thinking that they were a team getting picked apart.
Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill interrupts:
- So Jimpphat going to Falcons is unlikely?"
- It seems like that transfer was tied directly to m0NESY – if m0NESY were joining, Jimpphat would as well. And now it [the m0NESY transfer] has backtracked,” Striker said in the podcast.
In dire need of bodies
Looking at Falcons’ active roster, it becomes clear they have significant gaps to fill. Currently, the only active player is Danish rifler Emil “Magisk” Reif. While Nikola “NiKo” Kovač is widely expected to join the team, Falcons will still have three open roster spots.
All this means that Falcons’ off-season is shaping up to be a crucial and likely hectic period for zonic and Falcons’ management as they scramble to build a competitive roster for 2025.
