Are you ready for CS2? Here is all you need to know!
With Counter-Strike 2 just around the corner, it is time to familiarize yourself with all the changes.
With the release of Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) just around the corner, avid players have had a taste of what's to come through the Limited Test. This article delves into some new features and significant changes that have been introduced in this upgraded version of the classic game, Counter-Strike.
1. Smoke Grenades Overhaul:
Smoke grenades now come with a different rendering effect and fill up any space they're deployed in, improving both the aesthetics and consistency of their appearance for all players on the server.
Interaction between smoke and HE grenades now temporarily clears smoke, providing a momentary vision through it.
Bullets create more holes in the smoke, especially noticeable around the edges, offering brief glances at who or what is behind the smoke.
2. Team-Dependent Smoke Colors:
Initially, the smoke colors are slightly different depending on the team, eliminating guesswork as to who threw the grenade. Although, over time, they will fade and become roughly the same color.
3. Grenade Camera Feature:
A brilliant grenade camera feature assists players in learning and practicing their grenade throws by showing exactly where the grenades will land.
4. Jump Throws Enhancement:
Jump throws have been made easier to perform, and a successful jump throw is now accompanied by an audio cue to signify the accuracy.
5. Weapon Loadout Customization:
Players can now set up their loadouts in the main menu before going into a game. This feature also allows players to sell back accidentally purchased weapons.
6. Audio Radius Indicator:
A circle around your player on the minimap indicates the audio radius which is an indication of how far your sounds travel, assisting in managing your noise levels during a game.
7. Improved Lighting and Shadows:
The Source 2 engine brings improved lighting to CS2, making shadows much more pronounced and useful in gameplay, as they can give away player positions.
8. Visual Enhancements:
New visual details like a wet effect on player models when they go through water and an inspect option for grenades and the bomb have been added, enriching the gameplay aesthetics.
9. HUD Customization:
Players have the option to change the HUD color and scale to enhance visibility according to their preferences.
10. Suppressor Removal Lock:
A new setting enables players to lock the suppressor removal, avoiding accidental unsilencing during firefights.
11. Advanced Crosshair Options:
A 'follow recoil' option has been added that adjusts the crosshair according to the recoil pattern of the weapon being used, helping players manage their spraying accuracy better.
12. Map Specific Tweaks:
Numerous map-specific tweaks like the ability to open and shut slats on the nuke fence, more accurate vent hitboxes, and using a panel underneath heaven on Nuke to get down faster without taking damage have been introduced.
13. Miscellaneous Enhancements:
Several minor yet significant changes like inspecting grenades and the bomb, planting inside the fountain on the B-bomb site on Inferno, and a setting to disable animated avatars for better focus have been added.
CS2 comes with an assortment of enhancements and new features, striving to create a balance between catering to veteran players and welcoming newcomers. With improved visuals, better utility mechanics, and an array of quality of life improvements, Counter-Strike 2 is eagerly awaited by the gaming community.
