zorte went 43-18 as BetBoom took Nemiga’s Anubis pick 13-3 and recovered from 6-9 on Mirage to win it 13-11. The AWPer now has 100 kills in five maps at PGL Masters Bucharest, and BetBoom are a series away from the playoffs.
For most of his time at BetBoom, zorte was not the player who decided their big matches. In Bucharest he has decided two in two days. A day after his 57 kills and overtime clutch knocked over Team Spirit, he finished Sunday’s series against Nemiga on 43 kills and 18 deaths, the best numbers on the server, and PGL’s viewers voted him player of the match.
That makes 100 kills and 55 deaths across five maps at PGL Masters Bucharest 2026. It also puts BetBoom on two wins in the Swiss stage, with one more needed for the playoffs.

Two empty rounds in twelve
Mirage was where Nemiga made BetBoom work for it. After losing the first two rounds on the CT side, they won four in a row, went into the half 7-5 up and led 9-6 early in the second. Even when BetBoom started to come back, Nemiga found answers. Their in-game leader robo made one of the boldest calls of the day: a hit onto the A site with no grenades at all, straight into contact, which caught BetBoom completely off guard.
What decided the map was zorte. On BetBoom’s CT side he failed to get a kill in only two of the 12 rounds, and one of those was the pistol round. He had five multi-kill rounds in the half and finished the map 28-12 with 99.9 ADR. With Magnojez anchoring B and winning retakes, BetBoom levelled at 10-10, fell behind once more at 10-11, called a timeout and won the last three rounds.
It is a different zorte from the one BetBoom have usually had. He was one of their best players in the Thunderpick World Championship final in Malta, out-AWPed sh1ro in several rounds against Spirit on Saturday and finished this series on +25, 11 better than anyone else on the server.
Nemiga’s own map, gone in the clutches
The scoreline on Anubis says 13-3, and it does not say much about the first half. Nemiga had picked the map and came out forcing buys and stacking sites, round after round. They were in a winning position in several of the opening rounds and lost them anyway, three of them to BetBoom clutches: two from zorte and one from s1ren. In one of them, Xant3r was left with a big health advantage against a low zorte and waited too long behind a smoke.
BetBoom led 6-0 before Nemiga scored, and 9-3 at the half on what is normally the stronger T side. Then they won all four rounds on the CT side. Magnojez finished the map 17-11 with 109.8 ADR, and a good share of those kills came from the same boost spot in the middle of the map.
khaN was the only Nemiga player who kept up. At one point in the first half he had 166 ADR, and he ended Anubis 15-13. No teammate managed more than 11 kills, and Xant3r finished the map with four.
Between the maps, PGL aired an interview with khaN, who said the change of in-game leader had given Nemiga someone to hold them together in stressful moments, where they used to fall apart. Sunday’s first map was full of those moments, and Nemiga lost almost all of them.
A quiet day for syph0
The player who carried Nemiga past Legacy on Saturday never found the same level. syph0 had 47 kills on Ancient alone against Legacy. Against BetBoom he had 22 over two maps, with seven deaths before his first kill on Anubis and a KAST of 47.5% for the series. robo and Xant3r finished the series 14 and 16 kills below even. KaiR0N-, with 32 kills, was the closest Nemiga had to a reliable second star.
BetBoom had no such problems. Four of their five players finished on the plus side, and Boombl4, the only one below, has now won two series in a row in Bucharest after reaching the final in Malta. In an interview recorded before the event and aired by PGL after the series, the in-game leader said the Thunderpick final was his first in five years, and he hoped it marked the start of the way back to tier one. What he wanted to see in Bucharest, he said, was the team’s play improving, whatever the placing.
What Sunday settled
BetBoom join FUT and Vitality on two wins and no losses in the Swiss stage. Their next series is against another unbeaten team, with a place in the playoffs for the winner, and the loser still has two more chances. The win adds 36 points to BetBoom’s total in HLTV’s version of Valve’s Regional Standings, not enough to move them from seventh.
Nemiga drop to one win and one loss, where Liquid, The MongolZ and Spirit already wait. They need two more series wins before a second defeat. The loss costs them five points and two places, from 17th to 19th. It also hurts a different race: going into the match, HLTV’s simulator gave Nemiga a 24.9% chance of an invitation to BLAST Bounty 2027 Season 1, and the defeat leaves them at 13.3%.
