FURIA edge out BetBoom to win Thunderpick World Championship

FURIA win their first title since November 2025 by defeating BetBoom in a five-map epic.

FURIA win their first title since November 2025 by defeating BetBoom in a five-map epic.

Despite being down 1-2 in the best-of-five series, and enduring a 2-10 comeback on the decisive fourth map, FURIA pulled through at an 11-11 scoreline to just get over the line and win on Cache.

Defending their title from last year, FURIA are back to winning ways, coming out on top of a tournament featuring Falcons, and the ever-threatening BetBoom.

BetBoom had FURIA on the ropes

After taking a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five BetBoom were in position to close out the series.

The first map of Dust2 went in FURIA’s direction despite being a comfort map for BetBoom. Kaike ‘KSCERATO’ Cerato showed up in MVP form, helping win the map 13-6 with a 1.83 rating.

The second map was a back-and-forth battle on Ancient, a map FURIA is less experienced on compared to some competitors. FURIA certainly showed prowess on the map, but BetBoom’s fragging was unlocked on that map, which they won in double overtime 19-16.

Magnojez takes over Nuke an puts BetBoom in title-winning position

Kirill ‘Magnojez’ Rodnov, BetBoom’s MVP candidate, had a ridiculously imapctful map on Nuke and Mirage to almost clinch his team the title.

On Nuke, he went 23-7 in K/D on what was a close map that could have gone either way. On Mirage, after starting 2-10, Magnojez was part of a nine-round streak that got BetBoom to 11-11 with the secondary AWP, grabbing the highlight of the series.

On those critical final rounds, experience shone through, allowing FURIA to win Mirage. On Cache, it was chaotic, but FURIA rallied to win the map convincingly and win 13-6.

FURIA in a similar spot as last year before their dominant streak

FURIA had yet to win a trophy with their five-man lineup until grabbing the Thunderpick World Championship last year, after which they went on the organization’s best ever run of events.

This year, they have been on a slump while still gaining respectable results. Their next event begins October 24th at PGL Bucharest before their Asian tour in November, including the Singapore Major.
