FUT’s new AWPer finished with the best K-D in the series as his team came back from 1-6 down on TYLOO’s Nuke and closed out Ancient with seven straight rounds in their first official match in 54 days.
FUT Esports opened PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 with a 2-0 win over TYLOO on Saturday morning, taking Nuke 13-9 and Ancient 13-6 in the first round of the Swiss stage.
The result was what everyone expected. FUT are tenth in Valve’s Regional Standings, TYLOO 59th, and FUT had already beaten them twice this year. How FUT got there was less certain. The series was the first official match for SunPayus, who joined as the team’s primary AWPer on 1 October after his release from G2 and took over the role from cmtry. FUT had not played since a 0-2 loss to Vitality at BLAST Open Porto on 31 August, and for half a map it showed.

A debut that held the line
TYLOO picked Nuke, a map where FUT had won only one of four in the previous three months, and for the first ten rounds the pick looked inspired. TYLOO went 6-1 and then 7-2 up on their T side, staying grouped, saving rifles in lost rounds and finding late entries onto A that FUT never solved. Zero, the player to watch for TYLOO before the match, was the engine, and he finished Nuke with 17 kills and a team-high 80.9 ADR.
SunPayus was the one part of FUT’s defence that held. He started the half quietly, but once he settled outside and in lockers with the AWP, TYLOO’s attacks began to stall. FUT won the last three rounds of the half to trail only 5-7, and Krabeni’s aggressive pushes through lobby late in the half showed how much the captain trusted his new AWPer to hold outside on his own.
By the end of the series SunPayus had 34 kills, 16 more than his deaths, and an 87.8% KAST, the highest of anyone on the server. On Ancient he was even better: 18 kills to seven deaths and 98.4 ADR.
Eleven of the last thirteen
The turn on Nuke came in the second pistol round. dem0n picked up a pair of dual Berettas and then finished the round by knifing JamYoung for an ace. FUT went on to win the second half 8-2, which means they took 11 of the last 13 rounds from 2-7 down.
Krabeni did the rest. The in-game leader had 20 kills on Nuke and finished the series with 38 kills and 94.8 ADR, the most in the match. On Ancient, FUT’s pick, he kept taking the first fights while SunPayus and dem0n traded behind him.
TYLOO still had their moments on Ancient. They won the pistol, led 3-1 and pulled the half back to 6-6 after FUT had gone 6-3 up. But early in the second half, a post-plant they appeared to have under control, with all five players alive, slipped away when FUT picked off a player in big box that nobody was covering and retook the site. TYLOO did not win another round. FUT took the second half 7-0.
The same TYLOO problems
Before the match, TYLOO had lost three straight series at ESL Pro League Season 24 and had not beaten a tier one team in three months. The first half on Nuke was their cleanest CS in some time, with seven T-side rounds on a map where they had won just 12% of their T rounds over the previous three months.
What followed was familiar. JamYoung, their best player over the last three months, finished on 26 kills and 26 deaths. Jee, the team’s AWPer, had four kills on Nuke and 18 in the series, and he never matched the impact SunPayus had on the other side. Zero went from 17 kills on Nuke to 10 on Ancient.
TYLOO’s Major math
FUT move into the 1-0 pool and meet another winner from round one in round two. FUT coach coolio told the broadcast between maps that the team had an eight-day bootcamp with SunPayus, that the new player brings the same good mood to the team as cmtry did, and that he expects FUT to reach the playoffs without setting a higher target. FUT won the last event held in Bucharest, PGL Bucharest in April.
For TYLOO, the loss matters beyond the Swiss table. Before the match, HLTV’s simulation put their chance of an invite to the PGL Major Singapore at 75.4%, rising to 94.3% with a win and falling to 71.7% with a loss. HLTV’s projection had a win lifting them from 59th to 47th in the VRS, while a loss would leave them 59th. Asia has five Major spots, and VRS analyst Jesper “Udknud” Larsen had TYLOO fourth in the region and only half a percentage point ahead of Chinggis Warriors in his projection last week. The invites are based on the standings on 2 November.
TYLOO drop into the 0-1 pool and need three wins from their next four best-of-threes to reach the playoffs. Two more losses send them home.
