Álvaro “SunPayus” García has officially joined FUT as the team’s new primary AWPer. The organization announced the signing today, securing the 27-year-old just days after his departure from G2 Esports. SunPayus brings extensive top-tier experience to the squad, having previously represented ENCE, Team Falcons, and HEROIC throughout his career.
Replacing cmtry on the starting lineup
The addition of SunPayus results in the removal of Mykyta “cmtry” Samolotov from the active roster. The outgoing AWPer was the only player on the team who did not secure a contract extension during the summer break, paving the way for this roster update.
Continuing the momentum in the Counter-Strike 2 season
FUT has emerged as one of the major surprises of the current Counter-Strike 2 season. Built around a core of former NAVI Junior players, the team recently claimed the championship title at PGL Bucharest 2026. In addition to their tournament victory, the squad successfully qualified for the Esports World Cup 2026, solidifying their position in the upper echelon of the competitive circuit.
The organization confirmed the transfer in a brief public statement: “We are thrilled to announce that Álvaro ‘SunPayus’ García will be our new AWPer. Welcome to the family!”
