The Americas RMR got off to a surprising start as heavy favorites Liquid and FURIA both dropped their opening matches in China. Despite being among the highest-ranked teams in the tournament, both now sit at 0-1 in the Swiss Stage.
Liquid’s struggle began with a 16-12 loss to Wildcard, which FURIA followed up by losing 19-17 to Legacy – as the scores show, both best-of-one-series were decided in overtime.
They’ll have the chance to turn things around in the second round later today, with matches set to kick off from 09:00 CET. Meanwhile, paiN secured a smooth start, defeating Nouns 13-5 to place themselves at an early advantage in the competition.
