FlyQuest became the first team to qualify for Stage 2 of the StarLadder Budapest Major after a stunning performance against Fluxo. The Australian and Romanian-led roster looked unstoppable, cruising through both Overpass and Inferno with confidence, clean mid-rounds and near-perfect site holds. In a matchup that never felt close, FlyQuest allowed only four rounds across two maps as they secured a dominant 2-0 victory.
The match
Map 1: Overpass (Fluxo’s pick)
FlyQuest opened the series with a smooth pistol round behind a regali 3k and converted the follow-up for a quick 2-0 lead. Fluxo’s first buy did not connect as FlyQuest secured the initial gun round. Fluxo’s pistol buy nearly stole a round, but jks clutched a last-second 1v2 defuse to push the lead to 4-0.
The next buy from Fluxo fell apart as FlyQuest extended to 5-0 and kept building their economy. Fluxo finally found their first round, but regali immediately responded with a 1v1 win to preserve the five-round cushion at 6-1. INS then delivered a clean 3k to make it 7-1.
FlyQuest continued to overpower Fluxo, moving to 9-1 and eventually cruising into halftime with an 11-1 lead as Fluxo looked completely stalled out.
The second half pistol went to FlyQuest, giving them match point at 12-1. They closed out Fluxo’s map pick instantly, taking Overpass 13-1.
Map 2: Inferno (FlyQuest’s pick)
The momentum carried straight into Inferno as FlyQuest won the T-side pistol and the follow-up for a 2-0 start. Fluxo’s force buy failed again, and an overly aggressive late-round push cost them every weapon as FlyQuest surged to 3-0.
The score climbed quickly to 7-0 before Fluxo finally stabilized with a double AWP setup to claim their first round. A sharp B retake earned the Brazilians a second, making it 7-2. FlyQuest replied instantly with a fast site hit for 8-2 and followed up to reach 9-2. Fluxo managed one more round, but FlyQuest controlled the half with a 9-3 lead.
FlyQuest suffocated any hopes of a Fluxo recovery by winning the second-half pistol and stretching the score to 10-3, only three rounds away from qualifying for Stage 2.
Fluxo’s force buy failed again as FlyQuest reached 11-3. A pistol buy also fell flat, handing FlyQuest their 12th.
Fluxo held a 5v3 in the next round but let it slip away as FlyQuest closed the map 13-3 and the series 2-0.
Across the entire series, Fluxo managed only four total rounds, while FlyQuest booked their place in Stage 2 with one of the most dominant performances of the Major so far.
